Hello everybody, can anyone recommend how to refer to a private endocrinologist here in Scotland? Do you recommend any one you know and you trust? I asked the GP who said there was no need to have a private endocrinologist as the nhs one could help, but I have gone under diagnosed, I m aware of having hashimoto but endo didn’t want to look into it and also I have nodules, but again I was discharged saying it was all auvarage.
Can someone help?

Once you've sorted out a private endocrinologist, if they require a referral ask your GP again and if she says the same thing then just reply that the NHS endo you saw wasn't able to help so could she please do a referral letter for Dr XXXX.
You can send for the list of thyroid friendly endos from Dionne at ThyroidUK:
tukadmin@thyroiduk.org
You can use the contact form on ThyroidUK's main website for the list of private practioners:
You can then ask on the forum for feedback by private message on any individual doctors who you can travel to.
As we can't discuss individual doctors on the forum without their permission, I will turn off replies to this post so that no recommendations are made on the forum.
