Chest tightness & mucus

Same here, two months before I went for doctor for my swalling neck gathering long time couph ( which comes sometimes in a day only) Doctor prescribed me levethyroxine as my TSH 100

I was recommended to take 100 mg per day,

But I felt tightness in my chest area when breathing and night many time mucus coming to my thought, So I reduced dosage my self into 50 mg, even I took medicine for one month, mucus & chest congestion feeling is same, But my neck swalling dissapired, Doctor recommended me to take 2 tests, unfortunately I didn't have money for do those tests,

Again I increased my levethyroxine into 100 mg, almost took for 20 days, Regarding my chest congestion & mucus I went for GP, She gave me PND and medicine for allergy reactions and infected me medicine and asked me to get steam for 15 minutes,

Now my medicine finished but situation is same, GP told me if medicine didn't cure Ur symptoms need to go some more tests hence she suspects may growing rumour or something serious, I'm 33 years old,

If anyone have any idea about this, please leave a reply for me

Your very high TSH confirms you are hypothyroid

Levothyroxine is a daily replacement hormone. You will need to take this every day for the rest of your life

It’s common to need to increase levothyroxine dose slowly.

Bloods should be retested 6-8 weeks after each dose increase

Starting with 50mcg ....after 6-8 weeks increasing to 75mcg .......and then to 100mcg etc

Levothyroxine dose should’ve high enough to bring TSH down under 2

Important to ALWAYS take levothyroxine on empty stomach and then nothing apart from water for at least an hour after

Very common to have low vitamin D, folate, B12, iron and ferritin

Get doctor to test these

Low iron linked to chest pain

Mucus linked to milk and dairy intolerance when hypothyroid - especially if you have autoimmune thyroid disease (hashimoto’s) diagnosed by high thyroid antibodies

Ask Doctor to test thyroid antibodies
