Hi I've not been on here for a long time, I'm now 51 and haven't worked properly now for full year, I just do,the odd temp job and feel guilty I've recently been in hospital for fibroid treatment, 3 weeks ago actually, I have only done 1 weeks work this year and feeling guilty. The trouble is, I find it hard to,get going in the morning, Alternate my leveroxine between 75 ml and following day 100 mg, I'm waiting for my test results as I have had mucus in my mouth for the last month and feel like I'm being choked when trying to sleep. I have raised my pillow which has resolved the situation a little - anybody else experiencing the same situation?

Do you have Hashimoto's also called autoimmune thyroid disease diagnosed by high thyroid antibodies?

Food intolerances are more common with Hashimoto's. Gluten most common, but dairy is 2nd most likely.

Dairy intolerance can cause cough or mucus

Hi, I have Hashimoto’s and used to feel as though my tongue was too big for my mouth and always had “something” at the back of my throat. Since cutting out dairy, that has stopped. I haven’t gone totally gluten free yet but that’s the aim. Hope you find it’s a solution though your problem

Thanks for your reply, I have always loved dairy so I will have to do an alternative, same with the gluten intolerance. I have not been diagonosed with Hashimotos, but it looks like I may have this, just Ned to get motivated back into temping work now before I go into total depression 😀

The alternatives are really good. I use oat milk in my coffee. It’s all a bit more expensive but worth it for the relief from the mucous and the constipation 😊
