Metavive; anyone taking it and how are you getting on with it?

I'd like to know because it's what I've been taking but I may consider NDT instead. I'm just starting out on that particular journey of finding out about it

as I see it has changed?

The only change is that they have added nucleotides. The actual amount of thyroid glandular is the same as before.

They link to this article to explain nucleotides nucleotides4health.org/

Thanks for the link. I have discovered that I seem to have a night time cortisol/ adrenaline problem. Saliva cortisol tests show normal rythum but slightly low mornings. My problem hits through the night. Every time I wake up I get an adrenaline rush often end up in an ambulance because some nights it's out of control. I spend most of my day half asleep and then after tea time I feel great and can't be bothered going to bed! So problem being no conventional doc will help me. They say my heart is perfectly healthy and all tests show it just beats much too fast! So because they can't find anything wrong beta blockers for adrenaline is all they can do. I don't want to go down that road. If I mention cortisol/ adrenal fatigue they actually laugh! So this is why I'm considering metavive/ adrenalvive? I have searched old posts and see that you seem to be the one who knows where I'm coming from. Would you mind sending me a pm with info please?

Many thanks x

I’ve been taking it for a while now and not sure I wanted nucleotides adding but there we are, it’s in the product and no going back. I’ve just got a new tub so will give it a few weeks before the jury’s in. I’m considering NDT too at the moment and have been hearing from people who use it

How are you finding the Metavive?

Hello r, I’ve been taking it for a couple of years and now and found it to work but for the last month I haven’t taken it because I wanted to see what my baseline of thyroid hormones is. As suspected, after a month without anything, everything is low so what I now have to decide is whether to restart metavive and tinker with it until I get the levels right for me, or switch to NDT or conventional lab-made hormones. Whichever route I take, there’ll be some tinkering and tweaking to be done until I’m right. A bit daunted actually because whatever I take it’ll be some weeks before I can make a decision. And then what? Will probably have to chop and change until I’m happy. This could take months

The reason I decided to take metavive in the past is that it’s a natural product with very few additives. As far as I’m aware it’s just the cellulose of the capsule and the whole thyroid gland. I don’t want anything from a lab even though I know they’re the exact chemical structure of our own hormones and I know they work. I may well end up taking it but for now it remains the last resort but I’m wondering if I’ve reached the limit of what metavive can do for me because although I felt and looked well on it, I couldn’t shift the weight and my temp and pulse remained low. I could keep increasing my dose (and that’s something I’m considering) but then I have also to consider the cost of doing that

Where are you at right now with your health? I don’t recall that we’ve been in touch before

Thanks for your reply. Hypo/hashis for the last 5/6 years. Started on synthetic T4 (Eltroxin) but didn't too much for me. Took the plunge and started on thai ndt "Thiroyd" - never looked back. Now down to my last 30 days supply, and it has been discontinued. I have known this for a while, and bought "Thyroactive" which would be better named thyroinactive. Totally useless, and thanks to members of this forum I gave it up pretty quickly. Have ordered "Tru Thyroid" but again, it does not seem to be doing much for members on here. But although Metavive is classed as a glandular rather than ndt, it seems to be a lot more popular. This is why I was researching posts on metavive. I appreciate the reply. Thanks

Like me then you may have a way to go before things settle. Metavive definitely works amd is ndt in all but name really and as I’m sure you’re aware, it’s all a matter of trial and error. What I’d say to you is, try it for let’s say until the tub is finished and see. You might find you need to increase the dose every two weeks until you find what feels right. This is what Dr P advised me. I started on one and increased every fortnight or so until I was on 3. I then reduced it back to 2 twice daily as that’s what felt quite good

Having said that, at that point I had no idea what my blood levels were doing but the irregular heartbeat had stopped and also the frequent hot flushes. For some reason though the weight issue is a stubborn one and if I re-start, I’ll probably take 2 twice/day and increase to 3 in the am and 2 after lunch

Bear in mind there’s a porcine and bovine version and various strengths. I wish you the very best in your search for the right one and please do drop me a line now and then. It’s always good to talk to people about what they’ve tried. I’ve learnt so much from you all, it’s amazing
