THS count was 32 last time I was told about it and that was years ago. Should I be worried?

Do you mean 32 or 3.2 ?

32. Even GP was surprised. Since then does has been increased until it reached 175 mcg of Levothyroxine, now it's been put down to 100. I'm totally confused. I also have had Long QT syndrome brought on by under dosage.

Get hold of your latest blood test results. TSH should be about 1.0 as a starting point but it's more important to pay attention to how you feel.

Hypothyroidism can cause lower magnesium levels leading to long QT interval so try a magnesium supplement such as magnesium citrate (not Mg oxide or hydroxide). Magnesium blood tests are not reliable so don't bother asking for one!

Thank you, I'll try that. Also taking Lamotrigine so should check with psych team before adding anything else.

Adequate thyroid hormone is important for good psychological function.

On levothyroxine most important results are Ft3 followed by Ft4........TSH should almost always be under 2 and ALL FOUR VITAMINS optimal

For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 plus both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested. Also EXTREMELY important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12

Low vitamin levels are extremely common, especially if you have autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimoto's) diagnosed by raised Thyroid antibodies

Ask GP to test vitamin levels and thyroid antibodies as well as FULL Thyroid test

You may need to get full Thyroid testing privately as NHS refuses to test TG antibodies if TPO antibodies are negative

Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and before eating or drinking anything other than water .

Last dose of Levothyroxine 24 hours prior to blood test. (taking delayed dose immediately after blood draw).

This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip, best not mentioned to GP or phlebotomist)

Is this how you do your tests?

Private tests are available as NHS currently rarely tests Ft3 or thyroid antibodies or all relevant vitamins
