Due to problems with HRT my consultant took me off it in January this year (continuous combined HRT). I had planned to re-test thyroid/vitamins etc later this month. Can anyone tell me if it is likely that coming off HRT affects thyroid function? While I was still on HRT I was already experiencing being extremely cold during the day/evening but internally overheating after 10pm! Since stopping HRT I have absolutely NO control over my body temperature whatsoever.
Kind regards to you all.

See you have had tSH, ft4 and Ft3 tested previously via Medichecks and Blue Horizon
For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 plus both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested.
Also EXTREMELY important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12
Low vitamin levels are extremely common, especially as you have Hashimoto’s (high TG antibodies)
NHS refuses to acknowledge Hashimoto’s based on just high TG antibodies if TPO antibodies are negative
Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and before eating or drinking anything other than water .
This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip, best not mentioned to GP or phlebotomist)
Medichecks Thyroid plus ultra vitamin or Blue Horizon Thyroid plus eleven are the most popular choice. DIY finger prick test or option to pay extra for private blood draw.
Both companies often have special offers, Medichecks usually have offers on Thursdays, Blue Horizon its more random
Elevated TgAb levels are associated with symptom burden in HT patients, suggesting a role of thyroid autoimmunity in clinical manifestations of HT. Based on these results, we recommend screening for TgAb antibodies in HT patients with symptom burden.
Thanks for replying. Since going gluten free last year and supplementing with B12, D3/K2 and magnesium my vitamin results have improved. Also some (not all) of my symptoms improved. However since stopping HRT in January certain symptoms have returned, particularly tingling in hands/feet, burning shins, cold/heat intolerance etc. I plan to re-test thyroid/vitamins with Medichecks in the coming weeks but can't help wondering if coming off HRT has worsened my thyroid function.
