Covid-19 and Hypothyroidism, PAS B12

Like most of the people on here, probably, I am not sure if I am considered at risk of COVID-19 as I have hypothyroidism (suspected PAS) and have regular B12 injections.

Should I be self isolating ?

my husband has COPD, obviously I’m worried about him, have frail parents and childminder to a grandchild of a SE teacher.

I do work, from today that will done from home now, I just don’t know what to do except sit down and cry.

Please someone can you clarify, my GP surgery don’t seem to know

Btf-thyroid.org has stated no. But you should research if you have other underlying conditions. I have a screen shot but can’t upload it.

You should be self isolating due to your husbands condition. And possibly from him to keep him safe. Have you lot had any textes or emails? Please use this as well: gov.uk/coronavirus-extremel... for him.

Given your husbands condition you should. He should be getting a text from GP telling him to stay inside.

Even if we have no medical conditions, we are all capable of developing this virus but the Government have given clear instructions of how best to try to avoid infection.

We have to shop for food and you have to have a gap of 2 metres between other people. I prefer a longer gap but I am not going shopping as my husband is doing this.

We've seen on the TV many people are not following instructions i.e. not sufficient distance from others and avoid too many people (especiall if weather is nice).

One announcer stated - if weather is good just stay in your own garden (if you have one).

For those of us who have more than one autoimmune disease have to be extra careful I believe and I am not medically qualified.

Guess it depends where you are in the world ... the UK have locked down atm I have been self isolating for the past 8 days 😷

Stay safe ❤️

Nobody can give you a definitive answer right now. By the time an answer is available you may already have fallen prey to the virus at the worst possible time. So stick to your instincts, assume it is dangerous for you and take the greatest care possible. Doing this cannot cause you any extra medical problems, but may save you from some.

As BTF/BTA also say that NDT should be blacklisted and admit that many thousands of people continue to suffer by taking levothyroxine only, but do nothing about it, it is unwise to believe anything they may have to say about Covid19 and thyroid issues.
