Early Blood Draw

I approached Medichecks the other, and following advice from here, I asked about the possibilty of a blood draw before 9.00 am.

The visiting nurses don't start before 9am, and neither do"participating" hospitals. My surgery refuses, point blank, to draw blood for another laboratory!

I've never had success with finger prick tests, so how do I get an early draw?

A 9am blood draw would be fine. See first graph in this post for daily rhythm of TSH:

If I remember correctly, you're looking for a diagnosis of hypothyroidism, so an early blood draw, with nothing to eat or drink except water, is what you need. If you can book a 9am appointment that will be OK.

I'll let you know when they have contacted me.

Hi there. I have my blood test booked through blue horizons at 8am. The nurse called me to arrange a time. Not sure if the nurses in your area could do those times.

Well i've booked a nurse draw, so will negotiate a time when she calls to arrange! I hope it's the same nurse as usual, she's really nice.

Fingers crossed you manage to get an early appointment and your usual nurse 😊

Medichecks have contacted me to say NO bloods are being drawn till further notice!! That's despite them sending me the kit!

So I guess I'm not only stuck indoors except for daily exercise and the odd shopping trip, if I'm feeling brave. But I'm stuck amid the myriad of Hypo symptoms. The worst of which are the constant tiredness, weakness, balance issues and the poor focusing.

I've upped my Vit D intake, as suggested, coupled with 375mg of Magnesium.

D3 and Magnesium having little effect up to now (7 days). I'm going to try some Iodine supplementation...............grasping at straws!! Strange though that I am not putting on weight, just a touch of "Girth".

Not what you're looking for?
