Hi anyone had a medichecks nurse visit for a blood draw? If so would you mind telling me how soon could they offer the visit and amenable to early time? I know it will probably differ depending on area. I am in Epsom. Thank you.

Medichecks nurse visit for blood draw
I had Medichecks send somebody out recently, supposedly a doctor. He made such a pig's ear of things that I sent him away, four holes in my arms, blood in my cupped hand, and no usable blood in tubes to send away. Medichecks outsource the service where people come to the house to draw blood, so I complained both to Medichecks and to the outsourcer. I'm still tempted to report the doctor to the BMA. I hadn't seen somebody so bad since I was a teenager, more than 30 years ago. I will not be using the "service" again, unless Medichecks stop outsourcing, only use phlebotomists, and monitor the people they use. I'd rather wait at the local hospital's phlebotomy dept to get it done there, despite the 2+ hours that's likely to take out of my day, than risk being butchered again. Whilst I am very happy with Medichecks' testing etc. (other than the 6 month time limit on using purchased tests, hidden away in the T&C), they failed badly on this occasion (it's them that I had a contract with, not the outsourcer). Disappointing.
(Despite being closer to Epsom than Eastbourne, the person they sent came all the way from Eastbourne).
You could ask a nurse at your gp surgery to do it for you. It will be free if they’re willing so save you cash and mine did it within two days, and was 50 miles nearer than the nearest medichecks clinic!
My doctor suggested I asked the practice nurse to take any private testing I wanted doing. I did check with her and she was pleased to help. I can't remember now whatci had tested but she asked if she could look at the results as she hadn't come across that before. So we both looked forward to my results with interest!
I had a nurse visit for one Medichecks test because it worked out cheaper than the cost of travelling to the nearest available private clinic. I think the company was called HealthSquared - will try and double check that later. It's frustrating because you can't check appointment availability before you've committed and purchased the blood test, but I phoned afterwards to request an appointment first thing in the morning and was offered 8:30 within a couple of working days, which I was pleased with. The nurse who arrived was quite rude and seemed a bit unprofessional at first (she didn't introduce herself and complained about not having a free parking space available for her right outside the house?!) but once she'd found her parking space and come back to do the draw she was much better and it was done quickly anyway. Overall the timing was good, the service was questionable but it was the most convenient option at the time for me. Ok for a one-off, but if I needed to have blood draws regularly I'd probably try to make other arrangements.
I have the nurse for the Medichecks blood draw. Three times now and usually they turn up at around 9am. If you telephone the number given they will fit you in. I had one only last month it only took a few minutes and they were great, mind you I have brilliant veins for a drawn blood that's about the best thing about my body.
