Hello all, happy Friday. I am always told I am hard to draw blood from and actually can't give a pint when donating because draw is too slow ( they have a time limit). I often have to go two times to get the tests completed successfully.
Last time the nurse gave up after a few attempts and said, you need to drink at least 1 litre of water before bed and then another litre before the test in the morning. This makes the veins more "juicy" and easier to draw from. (She also sent me to someone else!!)
I did that the following week, and the next blood draw was straightforward.
Might not work for everyone but anything that gives me more confidence in going for my blood draw helps me relax, and that helps with the veins too. 👍

thank you - very curious about finger prick testing for obvious reasons. i tried it about 10y ago and it didn't work for me at all so i've never tried again but it would be so convenient to get this going....
