Blood test tip if you are hard to draw from

Hello all, happy Friday. I am always told I am hard to draw blood from and actually can't give a pint when donating because draw is too slow ( they have a time limit). I often have to go two times to get the tests completed successfully.

Last time the nurse gave up after a few attempts and said, you need to drink at least 1 litre of water before bed and then another litre before the test in the morning. This makes the veins more "juicy" and easier to draw from. (She also sent me to someone else!!)

I did that the following week, and the next blood draw was straightforward.

Might not work for everyone but anything that gives me more confidence in going for my blood draw helps me relax, and that helps with the veins too. 👍

The litre the day before helps me a lot too. Drinking that much first thing im tje morning makes me nauseous so I drink less.

I now refuse the give my arm and they do my hand instead with a kids butterfly needle.

I have tiny veins that hide, much easier to not let people say how awesome they are and to let them try. I just give my hand.
