Hi guys

Recently my thyroxine levels reduced by the endo from 100mcg to alternate days of 5days 75 and 2 days 100mcg. Symptoms of getting hot all the time is less now but my hair started to fall out and very tired and depressed. My blood test results are: T4= 0.56, T3= 14.1 do you think the test results are norm? Could someone let me know pls? I was very happy on 150mcg for years but they brought it down 6years ago!

Thank you in advance.

For us to be able to help we need the reference ranges for your tests so that we can interpret them. Ranges vary from lab to lab so we need your lab's ranges that came with your results. For a full picture you need

TSH

FT4

FT3

Thyroid antibodies

Vit D

B12

Folate

Ferritin

Labs differ in their machines, and so do the ranges and that's why we have to request numbers in order to give you the best response.

my vit levels are ok

But are they optimal? If you are undermedicated they may not be.

Vit D - 100-150nmol/L or 40-60ng/ml

B12 - top of range for Total B12 or for Active B12 at least 70 (preferably 100+)

Folate - at least half way through range

Ferritin - half way through range

Thank you Susie x

You were happy on 150mcg and they reduced it.!!!!

We see this so often. Happened to me as well. Thankfully I had joined this forum and was eventually able to get back up to a better dose.

They are taught to go by TSH, even though it is very variable and thyroxine replacement makes it even less likely to reflect your thyroid health.

As said, post your results, with reference ranges, and we can advise.
