Hi guys i need others experiences with perimenopause, for the last year have not been well went through b12 injections which messed me up, then looked at thyroid for possible cause of my symptoms, i now think its all related to perimenopause and not my thyroid at all, this being i am on day 40 of my cycle, have sore boobs in last 48hrs but still no period, im not pregnant?
Cycles for last year have been 25 - 29 days, have never gone this long, also late last year had normal cycle then another 2 weeks later, this however hasnt happened again.
I have suspected this was my case for awhile now as last year felt like my issues were hormonal imbalance, any thoughts?
Had female hormones tested twice last year last one being around 6 months ago, both said not peri?

All I can tell you is what my doctor told me I was very ill for about 3 years my symptoms were.. Sweating. Slight tremors in the early year going to the loo a bit more total fatigue exhausted all the time fast heart rate.. later stages my tremors became worse I really thought I had MS.. Or motor neurons as my mother and aunt died of this condition.. I became bedridden upshot I was going to my doctors I told him this was not the menupause but he convinced me it was I finally went to see another doctor who saw my condition and I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism finally got diagnosed as graves and lost my thyroid in May last year... But I can tell you I think the symptoms of thyroid illness and the menupause can cross over.. The reason I told my doctor it was not just the menupause was because I went through it at 42 so I knew the symptoms and they started to diminish so was not having the hot flush as much maby once a month if that.. I'm now on levo because I have no thiyroid and my menupausal symptoms have returned I'm no longer hyper I'm hypo because I'm not doing well on levo.. As you said it's hormonal both thyroid and female hormones and I'm sure theirs a link because the thyroid is an important organ and goes to every cell in out body matablism. It's our central heating indicator and much more so it could in affect have some affect on the female hormones to its just my intake on this I'm bk to having bad sweats Fast heartbeat ect I'm on 75mg levo even when I was on 25mg I had menupause symptoms so is the levo reactivating my menupause symptoms it's a real conundrum.. Also thyroid problems can affect periods have you got any blood results from your thyroid test?
I dont have recent ones but my period was still regular even when tsh was 11 but im sweating, fast heart rate etc been going on for over year even when i was on higher dose of levo never had a problem on levo in 13 years and know my body pretty well, ive had nearly every test under the sun
You could be having hashish swings from hypo to hyper some on here will know more than me about hashimotos.. It does sound like the menupause symptoms but also hyper symptoms to.. that's why my doctor said it was the menupause because I'd already been diagnosed as going through it 12 years ago I told my doctor then its reanimated it's self because my symptoms were getting less and more spaced out and now I have them 24 7..as I said it turned out to be hyperthyroidism with a bit of the menupause thrown in.. You should get bloods done for your thyroid to see if they have changed in anyway also another check on your female hormones would be good to.. Its such a grey area when we as women have thyroid illness then the dreaded menupause comes along as I said it's all hormonal and I just don't think doctors know the difference sometimes
Good luck sbadd
Post blood results on here if you can so other members can help❤️❤️
Yes im going to ask for female hormones to be done again my last thyroid test around 8 weeks ago was only just in range so still on 50mcg atm i never had thyroid symptons even when diagnosed in 2006 but will now ask for increase as was fine on 75mcg until this all happened , i definitely feel it is meno or peri as my mum went through it earlier as well
