Can you feel fatigued/tired from an overactive thyroid?
Fatigue can be due to low Iron and Ferritin as discussed in your post and Replies of three weeks ago 🤔
You have underactive thyroid don't you, previous posts show you have been prescribed T3. In that case can't be overactive, although it's possible to be overmedicated.
What are your current thyroid test results, with reference ranges?
Yes underactive.. I only used T3 about 7 years ago when first diagnosed... been on NDT ever since..
My results are a bit complicated at the moment to be honest so it won't be a true reflection (So I have to go by symptoms. ) as I was on iodine (was working with an iodine literate naturopath) which inflates TSH falsely for a while and it takes time to get a true reflection. I have also been on homeopathic thyroid protocol (working with a homeopath). Am trying to understand if I might have/could have gone hyper with the homeopathic thyroid protocol but since TSH is falsely inflated (due to iodine) it's not reflected... and was wondering if fatigue is also indicated if you go hyper.
If your thyroid is failing to the extent that you need to take thyroid hormone replacement, then it's hardly likely to recover to the extent that it over-produces hormone, no matter what the protocol.
Why were you on iodine? Unless you have been tested as deficient taking iodine supplements is likely to do more harm than good.
I know that may not make sense but they used to give iodine to suppress an overactive thyroid.
Thanks Jnetti, yes I know all this don't worry. I was/am working with an iodine literate naturopath.
Yes you can and I am feeling a bit fatigued now after looking after a boisterous 2 year old while my daughter spends some romantic time with her husband.
I have Hyperthyroid Graves Disease ..
...and I can assure you that feeling extreme fatigue is very normal
... until .....using meds to level off the Thyroid Hormone and ensuring that your levels of minerals and vitamins are at optimum levels ... all about .. BALANCE !
Good luck

Are you sure you don't have fibromyalgia which is often found along side thyroid problems and has all the symptoms you say
Yes I think you can. I am feeling tired because of lack of sleep and looking after a boisterous 2 year old. I went to bed at 9pm last night and now I am wide awake yet again.😪
Yes, completely exhausted but unable to sleep. My friend had this with Graves, I’ve experienced this whilst running a temperature & not dropping T3 dose when it started.
