Best 24 hour cortisol tests

Anyone with advice on best type of 24 hour cortisol test would be grateful for help.

One that tests both cortisol plus DHEA, no point in testing cortisol alone.

One that has proper reference ranges rather than some starting at zero.

Hi Jamima,

It depends why you are testing...

If your healthcare team is considering cushings for example, then you may want to look at an 8am and a 4pm blood cortisol, a set of saliva cortisol readings (but only expect your doctor to consider the bedtime one) and a 24hr urinary cortisol test.

Many thanks Paul, I’ve managed to find a suitable test which will hopefully shed some light on my symptoms.
