(I lost the “reply” link whilst editing my response.)

My gastroenterologist since 2007, Dr Thomas Borody, created the triple antibiotic therapy for Drs Barry Marshall and Robin Warren who won the Nobel Prize for Medicine in 2005. They discovered the link between H.pylori bacteria and stomach ulcers. Prof. Borody correctly diagnosed the culprit behind my chronic fatigue syndrome as the mycobacterium C.pneumoniae and I had a massive improvement after 8 weeks of 3 targeted antibiotics. You’ve reminded me that back then he mentioned a possible correlation between the C.pneumoniae infection and my previous breast cancer. I got the impression that it was an informal observation after many years in practice. FYI my sister and I have Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis. I also have hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome but mine is the highly arthritic version of it. There’s a possible link with hEDS and breast cancer similar to that between Ashkenazi Jewish women (who are often hypermobile too). Hashimoto’s is one of its comorbidities, as is ME/CFS. You may not have been off topic after all!

H pylori is much more common with hashimoto’s ...or may cause Hashimoto’s

Perhaps everyone with Hashimoto’s should be tested for H Pylori

Everything is connected, but a pity most of us are not treated holistically by our medics.

My son thinks we both have EDS though the milder JHS type. I’ve met two lovely young women who have the vascular type which will shorten their lives considerably. As usual my GP hadn’t heard of EDS or POTS, though a physio & podiatrist separately confirmed JHS after years if hospital visits, but only after I mentioned it. My arthritis & subluxed joints are worsening, especially those I’ve injured. My previous GP just diagnosed FM, & no GP or endocrinologist will acknowledge my hypothyroidism despite lifelong pesky symptoms & a wide range of hormone disorders in my family from thyroid cancer, hypothyroidism, Graves, & hypogonadism. I am high risk for cancer due to my pituitary tumour, & have regular mammograms which are unpleasant, but less so than the surgery I had before these were routine.

At least lemon water & ACV help improve my digestion!
