sorry forgot to ask out of interest is anyone doing dry january (or quit booze previously) and noticed a difference with hashi's? i'm only asking out of interest as although i wasn't a big drinker ( a four pack of beer on fridays and saturdays) annoyingly i have felt no different at all but wondered if im likley to have a benefit in the not too distant future on my thyroid?

In the hashimotos protocol, the first step to help hashi's is to support your liver, and cutting out alcohol is one of the best things you can do. That was my logic... i have read hashimotos protocol but must admit after trying most of her "tips" ie gluten free and numerous supplements I've not noticed any improvement, (that book ended up costing me a fortune! still you never know eh?
I cannot say I am doing a dry January but I have cut down my alcohol consumption by half so that I can afford my meds (Pills cost $50 per month on average). It seems to be working out.
But in answer to your question, yes I do feel better, not amazingly so but just a bit more energetic and the weight isn't going up a pound every time I have an average sized dinner. The weight comes off a couple of days later but with reduced input of wine it doesn't go up so quickly in the first place.
