I forgot to take my Levo meds

My doctor said to take two the next night. I take them at night so is this right? Or do I take it this morning?

It's ok to take two the next night. Levo is T4, the storage hormone. It doesn't really matter when you take it. It's possible to take your whole week's dose on Saturday, if you wish - but I wouldn't recommend it! lol

I take my meds in the morning before breakfast. Normally you would not double up on the dosage to make up for what you have missed during one day. You carry on as normal the following day. Read the leaflet, it may provide you with more info regarding the dosage.

the leaflet of levothyroxine says it clear that you should not double your dose if you forgot once to take it but continue the next day with your dosage as you normally do.

i just dont understand the fact that some doctors say one thing while on the leaflet says other.

I also had this question hen i was on carbimazole and the edno told me the same thing but on the leaflet it says never double your dose.

Hello Diamond60,,,levo is taken first thing in the morning onto a empty stomach,,,and do not double the dose,,,just continue in the usual way,,,your body will deal with the levo in it's own way and speed,,,, in the patient leaflet,,it says never take the missed dose with the usual timed dose,,,,hope this helps a bit,,,ttfn from karen.

'your body will deal with the levo in it's own way and speed' When we're talking about levo, it can't, because it will be a dose short. It's the weekly amount that counts, not the daily amount. Some people take their whole week's worth of levo in one go, once a week. Then the body will deal with it. But the body can't make up for a missing dose.

Not what you're looking for?
