Stop before blood test?

Please can someone remind me when to stop T3 (take it at 7.30am) and vit Bs etc before fasting blood test 8.40am this Friday?

Last dose of T3 should be 8-12 hours before blood draw. This may mean splitting your dose the day before and rearranging the time you take it. If you take your whole dose at 7.30am then on Thusday I would split your dose into two, take half at 8am and the second half between 8am and midnight. Take Friday's dose after the blood draw.

Biotin, or a B Complex containing Biotin (B7) should be left off for 7 days before a blood test.

I would have the blood taken about half way between T3 doses to give a very rough average fT3 figure. It depends on whether you take it once daily, if so the fT3 figure will only measure half the T3 you're taking. This doesn't matter much if you are taking a small dose e.g. 5 or 10 mcg. Maybe you could take the T3 the evening before or have the blood taken late afternoon.

Just saw your previous post 'on 30mcg t3 and 25 thyroxine'. I would take 15mcg L-T3 in the morning and 15 mcg at bedtime. An early morning blood test would then only be a little bit out. Your total hormone dose equates to about 115mcg levothyroxine so is not that high.

Personally I would split your T3 into 3 x 10mcg the day before blood test. 7am, 3pm and Last 10mcg dose 9-10pm night before blood test

Last dose Levothyroxine 24 hours prior to blood test

Stop vitamin B complex now

If you have some plain folate on its own you can continue that until day before testing
