I don’t think it matters when you take it. As long as you take it around the same time every day. It can be taken before, during or after meals so it’s when ever it’s convenient to you.

What is the plan after 1 week? Are your doctors reviewing you on a weekly basis?

No I was on them for a week cause the bloods showed slightly high but normally they wouldn’t treat if the brain one was ok which it was , but as I was showing signs they put me on 15mg Carbimazole . Cause I felt shit they said stop which was two days ago . Yesterday went for bloods and came back slightly over and the brain one had gone under abit so now got to go back on . I have 10mg propranolol to take to help too. I hope I start to feel better soon with xmas shopping to deal with lol

It’s unusual to treat on such a short term basis. Many Doctors focus on the TSH (from pituitary) but dosage should be by FT4 & FT3 and usually assessed after 6 weeks.

Do make sure you get your results including ranges for your records and keep a diary of your symptoms. Have you arranged to have your antibodies tested?

I take Propranolol, it is often prescribed with anti-thyroids to help relieve symptoms. In particular palpitations & tremors. Once the thyroid levels are in range you can slowly wean down this medication but do not stop it abruptly.

Looking at your previous posts, there seems to be some doubt as to whether you do actually have an overactive thyroid.

Ask for a print out of all your results and post them on the forum, with their reference ranges, and members can help further.

Do you always do the tests under the same conditions each time. TSH varies throughout the day, highest in the early morning and lowers throughout the day until mid-late afternoon then gradually rises again.

I done them in the morning , yea think I am as a few doctors have said the same it was only one that said was normal but think cause the brain one was ok , but now it shows it’s slightly under and slightly over active thyroid , only on 15mg Carbimazole , get bloods checked in 3 weeks as keeping a eye ,

You are legally entitled to printed copies of your blood test results and ranges.

The best way to get access to current and historic blood test results is to register for online access to your medical record and blood test results

UK GP practices are supposed to offer everyone online access for blood test results. Ring and ask if this is available and apply to do so if possible, if it is you may need "enhanced access" to see blood results.

In reality many GP surgeries do not have blood test results online yet

Alternatively ring receptionist and request printed copies of results. Allow couple of days and then go and pick up.
