Frustrated with price of Erfa

Thank you to everyone for your replies. I am seeing a consultant but he won’t supply me with prescription. Finding it hard to find a source with reasonable price. It’s so frustrating as I can’t use Levothyroxine as I end up crying all the time. Erfa has been fab for me. It’s now costing euro98.75 plus 20 for shipping. Is that a reasonable price do you know please ?

In Belgium where I have my prescription issued both Armour and Erfa are terribly expensive. Armour practically doubled in price a few years ago and now it seems the same thing has happened to Erfa. Last time I checked, about a month ago, I'd have to pay around 2000€/year for Armour and 1600€/year for Erfa (based on my current dose, 4 grains daily). I have chosen to take Thyroid-S from Thailand instead. I had however considered switching to either Armour or Erfa because of 1. all the fillers in Thyroid-S and 2. the fact that two out of three Thai brands have been discontinued in recent months and I was worried about the future of Thai NDT since Asian swine fever is said to be the reason both Thiroyd and TR were taken off the market. But the quotations I got from two pharmacies made me decide to stay on Thyroid-S. I simply cannot pay that much for something that may or may not work.

However, if you've been doing great on Erfa, I can understand why you'd like to stay on it.

I don't know about ordering from Canada, but I can imagine that if you'd have to pay import fees and duties on the shipment it could end up being rather expensive.

It seems prescription NDT is expensive everywhere and that prices have gone up dramatically in recent years.

Are you able to source Metavive where you live? I can't compare it to Erfa having never tried this, but find it as good as Nature Throid.
