Today I have opened a letter that says that I need fine needle aspiration of my thyroid as requested by the xray department. This is following an ultra sound scan done just over a week ago. They've posted a blood form to me to get bloods done ASAP. On the form it says thyroid nodule v3, needs FNAC. I wish I hadn't found this out via a blood form. A phone call would've been nice. I'm also still feeling unwell. I've got to stay on carbimazole 20mg until my next appointment.
Still feeling fed up 😩

The letter came from my Consultant at the hospital. The GP surgery doesn't have access to all my info, only what the hospital send to them. I've been asked to general bloods done ASAP and then to phone the endocrinology secretary straight away so they can look out for them. I will speak to her then. I can't get bloods done until Tuesday. I'm not sure how I'm supposed to feel about the whole thing. I suppose the worry comes from the question do I have cancer?
I know a lot of nodules are nothing to worry about but there's always a possibility. There's nothing to be done until I have the biopsy and know the results 🤷♀️
I was contacted yesterday to make an appointment for a fine needle aspiration of a thyroid nodule. I've had a letter through today to say the consultant has reviewed the results of my ultra sound scan. It's picked up some vascularity in one of the nodules on my thyroid. Im really nervous. I know what this could mean and I can't help feeling anxious.
The fnac is scheduled for monday dinner time. I'll get biopsy results within 10 days of the procedure. It's going to be a long wait...
