B12 is fine for a Total B12 test. Total B12 measures the total amount of B12 - bound and unbound (active). You can have a good Total B12 result but Active B12 could be low. Active B12 is what is available to be take up by the cells. There's an Active B12 test which Medichecks do if you want to test it.
Vit D is low, the Vit D Society/Vit D Council recommend 100-150nmol.
Hey there, I think we still need the ferritin/iron as suggested by SD so maybe incorporate into Medichecks if doctor doesn't help -
to be honest to have prescribed the Ferrous Fumarate you must have a reading somewhere.
I was prescribed 3 x 210 F. Fumarate but it gave me terrible diarrhoea - totally the opposite to what I had experienced many years earlier -
anyway, I started eating chicken livers ( Asda frozen section ) flash fried and then whizzed down with a dollop of Mayo and swallowed a spoonful of the pate, from the fridge everyday. I also took Gentle Iron which was " kinder on my stomach " and also Spatone Liquid iron.
Ferritin takes a while to build, I did ask for an infusion but as I was in range, the computer said " No " .
I am really struggling with diarrhoea and cramps. I will try the chicken liver. Where do I get the gentle iron. It has been a journey as I am lactose intolerant Levothyroxine gave me the worst symptoms until I change to Teva it has also given me joint pain and breathlessness . I am so fed up.
No worries, I've been in a similar place as have many of the people on this website.
Just came back on because I forgot to write " Solgar " and see that you have been helped by another very able lady who also helped me a couple of years back.
The people on this forum are Angels. They give so much. I can never thank them enough. I hope to pay it forward one day by helping other people and give them hope
