So I had my thyroid removed 15 years ago and have been miserable! I have found a doctor that specializes in the whole hormonal aspects but they take a long time to give me an appointment. And I struggle with Depression, no Motivation for anything and fatigue! So I wanted to ask if any of you have experiences with any supplements like estradiol, testosterone, t3 only or something that balanced all out and made you feel normal!
My goals are to gain motivation to workout, build some muscle, feel the energy to take care of my child and live more in the moment. It’s affecting my everyday life and relationships.
Thanks in advance

I'm sorry you feel so unwell and have done for so long. What was the reason for thyroidectomy? If you can post your latest blood test results along with a lab range then people can offer better help.
I found that I had to optimise my critical vitamin levels and find the levothyroxine that suited me before I started to improve.
However, don't supplement before you get proper testing for vitamin levels done.
OK, so I had a similar experience but am now well so keep hold of hope. First can I ask some questions? Are you still under a hospital Consultant or receiving treatment for thyroid cancer? Or, have you been discharged into the care of your GP? What type of thyroid cancer did you have? How much levothyroxine do you take? Do you have coexisting medical conditions and are you taking any medication or supplements besides levothyroxine? What is your target TSH level? All of this is relevant before any advice can be given.
If you have no current blood tests there are two options. You can visit your doctor's surgery and see if you can get copies of any tests you've had there, or get private testing done yourself. You can get mail order finger prick tests from Bluehorizon or Medichecks, the ThyroidUK website has more details.
A fully functioning working thyroid would be supporting you on a daily basis with approximately 100 T4 + 10 T3. Personally I just think it makes common sense to replace like with like and patients who have had a medical intervention should have T3 and T4 on their prescription, for if, and probably when they will be required.
Some people get by with T4 alone, some people simply stop converting the T4 into T3, at some point in time, and some people simply need both these vital hormones dosed and monitored independently to bring these essential hormones into balance and to a level of wellness acceptable to the patient.
T4 is a prohormone and your body needs to convert it into T3.
T3 is the hormone that your body and brain need on a daily basis, T3 is your fuel, and kick starts your engine, and your metabolism.
T3 is said to be about 3-4 times more powerful than T4 within the body, so if you are only on monotherapy with T4 - Levothyroxine, you have been automatically, down regulated by approximately 20% of your daily bodily requirements.
I read most people need about 50% T3 a day to function, and since you have " lost your thyroid " you have " lost " this little % of T3 that your own thyroid supported you with.
It may sound little but it makes a massive difference to your overall well being.
Your body also needs to be able to convert the Levothyroxine - T4 - into T3.
This can be compromised if your vitamins and minerals are not optimal in the ranges :
Ferritin ,folate, B12 and vitamin D all need to be tested and must solid and strong to support and aid conversion of the T4 prohormone.
The thyroid is a major gland responsible for full body synchronisation including your physical, mental, emotional, psychological, and spiritual well being, your inner central heating system and your metabolism.
Please arrange a full thyroid panel, including T3, T4, and your vitamins and minerals.
Once with these results post here again, and people better able than me will talk ou through them. Your doctor may help you with this request but if not you need to get the tests done privately as many of us on here have to do.
There are details on the Thyroid uk website alongside this amazing site.
Your Thyroid and How To Keep It healthy is written by a man who has hypothyroidism. Dr Barry Durrant - Peatfield writes in an easy to read, sometimes funny way, and though we don't now have this major gland, we do need to know what it does, so we can try and compensate for the loss.
Before I got on bio identical hormones I felt dead inside and had sex drive. I have slow release implanted estrogen and testosterone and take progesterone in pill form. I did start with the creams and the worked for a year than everything dropped again so I would start there but always natural when you can. I take Natures throid for my thyroid and feeling pretty good now.
