I don't know why your TSH is so high but if we take any other thyroid hormones other than levothyroxine, the results wont correlate because Thyrogold etc has all the hormones we need and levothyroxine is T4 only.

This is from the doctor who invented Thyrogold and he was also an Adviser to Thyroiduk. You may already have read it and he gave advice:-

Do you allow a 12 hour gap between your hormones and the blood test? If not your results will be skewed.

I'd ask Tammy Lowe who supplies Thyrogold. It was invented by her husband, Dr John Lowe who was also an Adviser to Thyroiduk before he died through an accident.

Dr Lowe only took one blood test for diagnosing and thereafter it was tiny increases of whatever replacement patients took until symptom-free.His patients only were prescribed NDT or T3 alone (if they were thyroid hormone resistant). It is the best way to judge out dose i.e. symptoms and relief of them.

If you've not read the following it may be helpful. It can be such a struggle when we're newly diagnosed or trying to reach an optimum dose and we're all so different in what dose resolves our symptoms.

I believe it is a 24 hour gap between last dose and test if it is levo we take but for NDT we should allow a 12 hour gap before a blood test.

I'm sorry Tammy hasn't yet responded to you. I assume she is the only one who deals with Thyrogold.

Your results suggest you are undermedicated, as both T4 is bottom of range and T3 not that high. I still had hypo symptoms when my TSH was 0.01 and T3 and 4 near top of range. But I,m on Levo only and we are all different!

The main question is how you feel. You could try a small increase. Those who have been hyper or overmedicated assure us that you will soon know if that happens!

I agree I think I probably need a bit more I’m also thinking I should go back to the np thyroid For this month and see if that makes a difference What do you think?

in reply to Evie7851

If the other suited you, there seems no reason not to go back to it.

I would try to take 150 more and retest. 300 may not be enough for you.

That’s a good idea it so hard to know which one to do I do think I feel better on the thyrogold but this weight gain is driving me crazy and the high T s h it was below 1 on the np but I didn’t feel as good I have a lot of allergies so maybe something in the np isn’t working as well
