A question to those with ovarian cysts (not PCOS)?

How often do you need check-ups?

I just came back from my gynaecologist whom I've been seeing every three months for ovarian cysts diagnosed in late 2018. I don't have PCOS as my testosterone levels are low, and all tests have come back normal so they are just that - non-cancerous cysts which cause me absolutely no problems whatsoever. I was put on Duphaston (dydrogesterone) 10 mg 14 days a month for a couple of months but that did not affect the cysts in any way so I went off it after reading that progestins mess with our progesterone levels (and mine are already low as it is).

Today, I was told to come back every other month instead.

I fail to see why. The doctor just said "to keep an eye on the cysts". But if I am not on any treatment, they have been declared harmless, and I have no bothersome symptoms whatsoever, what's the point of going there all the time and paying 120€ for an ultrasound every time??? It seems like an utter waste of time and money.

This is a private gyn and I am always wary of doctors in private practice who overcharge their patients and tend to order unnecessary tests.

Before I cancel my next appointment, I'd like to hear from others with the same condition.

I could add that my mother developed ovarian cysts around menopause but was told they'd go away on their own so no follow-up or treatment was needed.
