In 2013, I went to a private endo who I knew prescribed T3. He requested a bone scan. He also requested that one be done each year.
Why?
I found out recently through NHS scan that I have severe osteoporosis, but my GP only did scan because the endo requested a yearly one. Although this was my first, no yearly reminder came. There is also no record of my original scan, although private endo reported that it was fine..I have no memory of previous bone scan, and certainly wouldn’t have gone private for it.
GP doesn’t know why endo requested. Does anyone here? I really need to find out why I have severe osteoporosis. What might the endo have known that neither my GP nor I know?

You will have seen on here the need for vitamin level checks and the need for hypos to supplement. It can be the same for calcium levels and bone density. Thyroid problems can lead to osteoporosis. As you have been prescribed t3 I presume your thyroid has been wonky for a while and there endo may have thought a greater risk of calcium levels being depleted.
