Just received the following on 30mcg t3 and 25 thyroxine, with GP comments:
Serum t4 5.7pmul/L (too low)
Serum triiodothyronine 5.3pmul/L
TSH .43mu/L (0.27-4.2)
Frightened will lose this as did just now. So see following post for previous Medichecks!
Hi Kandahar, you need to add the ranges. They will usually be in brackets after the number. I see you have added the range for TSH in the results from your GP but we need to see all the ranges as they vary depending on the lab. It's where you are in the range that is important.

Hi Kandahar, from my experience and from good advice learned on this site I think the answer is that it depends on how you feel. I learned that I feel terrible if my T4 isn't high enough and I get on better with a higher dose of levo and a little less T3. That's not everyone's experience. Also symptoms change as you adjust to a dose so it takes a bit of trial and error. I've previously had my T3 and T4 tested just after meds and a few hours later and the peak level and trough level free in the blood varies a lot. Research trials on T3 can't find a link between changed levels of free T3 and symptom improvement, that strongly suggests we're all individuals and no one size or test level fits all. Another piece of research suggests the best levels to go for for symptom relief are the levels you had before being ill (not usually available for most of us). Most helpful advice I got here from Seasidesusie greygoose and Slowdragon was to be patient and be willing to work out what numbers work for me in terms of symptoms.
