I am trialling switching from slow release T3 to direct T3. Usually I take 30mcg SR and have felt undermedicated for awhile. Yesterday I used T3 direct only for the first time with small 5 or 7.5mcg split doses every 3-5 hours based on how I was feeling but also I was taking temp and BP every hour or so and using that as a guide. As the day went on I found that my temp dropped to between 36.5 to 36.7 but my BP stayed very high for me (135/95 77 heart rate). Today, I only took one 10mcg dose at 5:30am and my BP has steadily risen throughout the day and is still that high at 5pm even though my temp is dropping. I feel undermedicated but am hesitant to take more T3 with such a high BP even though I feel like I need it physically. I know that BP is not super high but mine was as low as 104/68 64 heart rate a few days ago. Does anyone know how to interpret the high BP vs low temp? I was expecting low temp and low BP to be my indicator of when to dose again but this has thrown me. Any explanation or advice greatly appreciated!

Changing T3 dose - temp down but BP up??
It is I believe rare but some are unable to take t3 due to ever increasing blood pressure, myself included. I stuck it out on 25mcg for 11 weeks till blood pressure just too High to continue even though my free t3 was 5.9, top range 6.8. The day I switched to NDT my BP dropped again, and back to my normal' within a few days. 🙃
Interesting about the NDT. I’m guessing it’s not the T3 that I have an issue with as I’ve been taking the slow release T3 for 9 months. Although you might be right on some level as I am really sensitive to it and it took about 5-6 weeks for each 5mcg increase to stabilise in my body and it was normally a rocky 5 weeks. Although I have improved greatly from a year ago, I am still at only about 75% and rarely feel good. This is why I wanted to try the direct T3 to see if I could control the dose a bit better. Your words are good food for thought. Thank you so much.
Thanks for this - very valuable. I take your point that what I see as my baseline BP and temp may be when my T3 is not optimised. I only started taking my BP and temps about 4 months ago, so it is more the drastic swings that concerned me in the past few days of the switch. Interestingly, I am having some symptoms like heat flushes and really feeling off and a bit revved up, but those tend to come about 3 hours after taking a dose of the T3. Is that weird? In past, I could easily differentiate between my hypo and and if I tipped into hyper but for the past 3 days, it is actually hard to differentiate. I just feel terrible most of the time (headache, sinus and jaw, teeth and neck pain, feeling fluey, tight throat and internally shaky) but it doesn’t seem to matter if I am in a high or low - it all seems to feel similar. The only real difference is the overheating. This is why it is so hard for me to tell if I need another dose. My best indicator has been when I all of a sudden get really cold and my fingers turn icy, but otherwise I just feel yuck. I am super sensitive to hormone changes so it may be something I need to ride out, but I’m not sure which dose and timing to ride out. I believe the theory that it is best to take a single dose but I am quite scared of what one massive dose might do to me if 10mcg is causing the major sweats and revved feeling 3 hours after taking it. I have been researching and reading for 1.5 years now and do things very sensibility but I have to admit, this has thrown me. Thanks so much for your insights. Any other thoughts are appreciated. I did read that other thread. Thank you.
I will give it a go with those dosages and times. Huge thanks!
