EDIT ***

I have just been reading a few old posts and one person had a similar T4 result as me (20 while on T3 ) and was told it was high for someone taking T3 , should it be lower ? Now I’m a bit worried as both are high .

I had my appointment last week with my Endo and just got my results:’ my T4 has gone back up 20 from 14 ( after starting T3) after he increased my thyroxine back to 100 , ) upper limit 21) my T3 has increased from 4.6 to 6.9 ( on 18.75 T3 ) the upper limit is 6.5 but he is happy for me to stay on the same dose , does that seem right ?

How do you feel on that dose?

I’m feeling good , increased T3 dose end of July from 12.5 to 18.75 , my bloods were done as per advice on here so they will be accurate ,

To me, the key is really how you feel and not just what the bloodwork says. Each of us is very different and so I would monitor how you are doing on a daily basis for the next little while - I keep a small diary and note any changes in how I feel between bloodwork spots and changes in dosing. As long as you are well within range (at least midpoint and higher) and feel well, then I say leave well enough alone until something changes. Wishing you all the best.

Thank you so much , hopefully I will continue to feel well , but know I can decrease the dose if I need too . fingers crossed 🤞

Hey there,

Glad to read you have found some help and that T3 is doing the trick for you.

Yes, I think the fact that you can adjust the dose is a crucial factor in your journey, as your confidence will grow as you find stability and wellness.

Good news, and I am happy for you,

I'm ok thank you, and have settled on NDT and still a little with " fingers crossed " like yourself. I hope in time you will be able to slide into the NHS system and they'll do the necessary prescription for you.

Sounds like a good endo - he’s treating you by symptoms, not blood results. Hallelujah - you have found the holy grail! 🤸🏿‍♀️🥛

Yes he lovely , and really feel like he listens to me, still having to source my ownT3 for now, though 🤷🏽‍♀️

That’s a pity. If he is an NHS endo is he acknowledging the fact you need it and should, by the guidelines, put you on a trial. It’s a shame. But at least he isn’t a TSH/lab range worshipper! 🤸🏿‍♀️🥛

Yes I asked him outright, he said he couldn’t but would write to my GP to see if I can get a private prescription, he said he couldn’t do that either , so I did feel like he fobbed me off , but for now I’m Ok 🙂

That's brilliant news.

Remember to regularly retest vitamin levels too. Keeping these optimal will help T3.
