Help needed please

Good afternoon everyone. I haven't been on here in a very long time due to work commitments but I find myself in need if help with some recent blood results. I will post a picture at the bottom.

I have autoimmune liver disease as well as hashimoto's, but my thyroid is not being treated. Basically, I have been put on some new medication for the liver condition but there is something else going on and an interpretation of these results would be really appreciated.

Please understand that when you see the results there is so much abnormal stuff going on, but its also related to a nasty flare I am having with the liver condition.

Thanks in advance..I will first post the page that has the T4 results and if you need any extra information please let me know. I have sk many results on this paperwork.

Kind regards Allie

Sorry you didn't get any replies

Your FT4 is high

But TSH may be a bit too high

You need FT3 tested at same time as TSH and FT4

Blood test should be as early as possible in morning and fasting and last dose Levothyroxine 24 hours prior to blood test

No vitamin D or folate?

Ferritin is very high

Has hemochromatosis been tested for?

Hi slow dragon...thanks for your reply..I do have other results of the same date but its about 3 pages all together...don't have it by me at the moment though but I will post in the morning....

I went to see my gp today and she looked at the results that I gave on here. She said that everything is normal within range including the TSH and the T4....I explained that I am feeling very unwell at the moment..thirsty, tired, getting up at night for the loo or because thirsty aches and pains. Also that my throat feels like there is something lodged in there, that I have nodules and when I get this thirsty and anxious I can feel it more in.my throat. Any how, shes ordered a full thyroid screen, plus for diabetes.

Yes, I know my liver issues can make me feel unwell, added to this new meds to suppress my immune system, but something else is going on.

You mentioned vitamin D....I had a deficiency back in may and was put on a 6 week course of vitamin d from the gp..

If this is my thyroid, then wherever they send the samples for testing need to sort their ranges out.

Thanks again

Much appreciated.

How low was vitamin D, if under 25nmol, you should have had loading dose of 300,000iu over 6-8 weeks

Vitamin D should be retested after loading dose

Likely to need ongoing maintenance dose

GP will only prescribe to bring vitamin D up to 50nmol. Aiming to improve by self supplementing to at least 80nmol and around 100nmol may be better .

Once you Improve level, very likely you will need on going maintenance dose to keep it there.

Retesting twice yearly via vitamindtest.org.uk

Vitamin D mouth spray by Better You is good as avoids poor gut function.

It's trial and error what dose each person needs. Frequently with Hashimoto's we need higher dose than average

If vitamin D is low, B vitamins may be too. As explained by Dr Gominack

Presumably you are supplementing B12 or have injections?
