Hi oh wise ones! Can anyone tell me whether lower back pain is associated with Hashis? I’ve been taking Levo (75mcg) for about a year. The last few months I’ve had intermittent back pain at the base of my spine.I don’t know if there’s a link or something else is going on.
Any advice welcome 😊

It can be a symptom of hypothyroidism, not specifically Hashi's. My lower back pain was indirectly responsible for my diagnosis - not that any of my stupid doctors had any idea about that! But, since then, I've seen lower back pain on various lists of hypo symptoms.
I don't have back pain anymore, now that I'm optimally medicated. But, I used to take enormous amounts of ibuprofen.
I'm not sure about bones scans, I've never had one. I should think it ought to be a good thing to do, but it depends on the results and your doctor's reaction to them. If it's going to mean he flips out and reduces your dose of whatever and puts you on those awful osteo drugs, then no, it isn't worth it. But, that's just my opinion. I think I'd rather get my nutrients tested and take the necessary vit D etc. to strengthen my bones.
Well it might be, but you can't assume that it is, especially as back pain is the scourge of modern day living. I read one report that put its prevalence at around 85% in the US for instance. In my case the pain turns out to be due to a combination of kyphoscoliosis, and deterioration of my spine. If it's at the point of bothering you, it's worth getting it checked out.
My back pain turned out to be caused by OA, degenerative disc disease and two impinged nerves at L5/S1! Oh and apparently I have an extra vertebrae! But eh, who says we need to be normal! 😆😂🤦🏻♀️
