Hi guys

I need some advice on my labs. My doctor says she is not going to up my meds, but I feel horrible everyday. My iron is also still almost non-excisting, taking iron supplements. I am currently on 62.5mcg Eltroxin. Can I safely up my dose to 75mcg?

The aim of a treated hypo patient generally is for TSH to be 1 or lower with FT4 and FT3 in the upper part of their ranges if that is where you feel well. There is plenty of room for an increase in your dose of Levo.

So I can up my dose from 62.5 to 75 and retest in 6 weeks?

I'm not your doctor and can't tell you what to do, but as I said there is plenty of room for a dose increase and if you do so then retest in 6-8 weeks.

So if I up the dose myself, will 12.5mcg be fine?

It has to be your decision but it should be. With your TSH so high in range I expect you'll need more than 75mcg eventually.

Thank you for your reply. I am very sensitive to the meds. So will up with 12.5mcg every six weeks until I am feeling like a human again.
