I am in Ireland and this is not my experience of GP Blood tests. My GP is excellent. I get blood test results in 2 or 3 days.

That's good. When you get a print-out make sure the ranges are also stated and post them on the forum for comments - if you so wish. I do wish more doctors were like yours i.e. put patient first before results of tests.
