Mrs: Please my problem is t4not convert to t3 and... - Thyroid UK
Mrs
Sohir,
Please be aware that T3 is not a weight loss medicine. Some people do find they lose some weight once they have settled on the dose of thyroid medication that is best for them. It will take time to find your right dose, but you may also need to consider making changes to your diet too.
I think you have misunderstood the meaning of the word 'Title'. In this case. Yes, Dr and Mrs are titles. But, when writing a post on here, that is not the sort of title we want. We want something like the title of a book. You know what I mean? Not your title.
For example, for this post you could have put something like 'Does T3 make you put on weight?' as your title. Then people would know what the post is about, and would be more likely to read the rest and answer.
t3 1.12 ng/ml(n.0.8-2) and t4 9.5ug/dl(n.5.1-14.1)tsh 1.5uIU/ml(n.27-4.2)
Your labs from one month ago do not really suggest a conversion problem. In fact, they don't even suggest hypothyroidism. Your FT4 is mid-range, and your FT3 just under. Do you have a diagnosis of hypothyroidism? Do you have Hashimoto's Thyroiditis?
Sorry i am in egypt not doctor write t3but i saw t3 in normal limit but low and i have sleep disturbance .difficult lose weight .
Some person write t3 must be in top level
FT3 should be at the top of the range for people who are taking thyroid hormone replacement. For people who have hypothyroidism. Not for people with no thyroid problem.
Other things could be causing your sleep disturbances and weight problem. Just because you have those symptoms doesn't mean you're hypo.
And this result test with 150 levo. Only
Ah, so you do have a diagnosis of hypothyroidism, and are being prescribed levo. OK
So, your FT3 is low, but so is your FT4, in that case. You probably need an increase in levo.
How do you take your levo? Do you take it on an empty stomach and wait an hour to eat or drink anything other than water? Do you take any other medication or supplements at the same time as levo?
I dont have any antibodies
How many times have they been tested? And, have you had both TPO and Tg antibodies tested?
My b12 is over limit ferretin and all good but i take selenium may help to convert t4to t3but i use it without test and tpo and tg is very good result no problem of it
OK, but you didn't answer my question. How many times have your TPO and Tg antibodies been tested? One negative result does not prove you do not have Hashi's.
One time make antibodies test you see make more test no problem i new in t3drug and i well make them together
Well, at this point, it doesn't really matter.
How much T3 are you taking?
How do you take your levo? Do you take it on an empty stomach and wait an hour to eat or drink anything other than water? Do you take any other medication or supplements at the same time as levo? Because your FT4 is rather low for someone on 150 mcg levo.
I take new drug from german have two t4 100 lev.and t3 20mcg then after noon take 5mcg t3 liquid from italy and at bed time take 50mg lev . Because before t3i take 150levo .alone and some person write not take levo alone with compination t4and t3 to avoid reverse t3 .please what do you see of this arrange
I think you have been badly advised. Taking T3 does not avoid reverse T3. But, reverse T3 is not a problem, anyway.
Now, you are taking too much T3. It is not good to start on such a high dose. You will stress your body and make things worse.
You should have started on 5 mcg T3, in the morning, with your levo. Why do you split your dose of levo?
Thanks i will go in your advise
OK, but you do know that you need to take both T3 and levo on an empty stomach and wait at least one hour to eat or drink anything other than water, don't you? And you leave at least two hours before taking other medication/supplements.
I ask you drug compination of t3 and t4 in the morning or two separete drugs t4and t3 t4in the morning in empty stomch and t3 in the after noon after cortisol become low are you know.
Start by taking them both together in the morning. As you slowly increase your dose of T3, you can experiment with takin it at different times to see which suits you best. But, start simple.
