Hi All, what are your thoughts/experiences of taking digestive enzymes?

Also, can any of you recommend a good multi strain probiotic that will actually make some difference. Thank you in advance, Mandy

I take a probiotic on the advice of my practitioner who considers it essential for people with thyroid problems/food intolerance. I take Optibac and it does seem to help.

The only probiotic that's made a difference for me is Just Thrive. It's soil based & doesn't need to be refrigerated. Only 1 pill a day is also a plus.

i take pro bio 7 specifically because it contains strains shown to reduce gas , i also use enzymes with peppermint and aloe ( the drink one currently and previously used tablets). they really help me along with glutamine and eliminating trigger foods like chilli onions etc.

if you google your symptoms and probiotics you can usually find studies which specify the best probiotic strains for your symptoms , i did this and then went into shop and asked the woman to help me

good luck

Hi enzymes and probiotics aren’t exactly the same.

It’s expensive £200 but the best way to ascertain what you need is a comprehensive stool analysis test.

It’s fab tho as it tests stomach acid 0-4,

Probiotics 0-4

Bacteria as above and candida plus parasites.

You also find out if you are immune to anything.

Mine was amoxicillin and it recommend which type of antibiotics would work for me. I was also partly immune to some supplements too.

I new my stomach acid was low but 0 was a shock for that and probiotics.

Also I had serious bacterial issues. All have been fixed and I feel better in that department,

My specialist recommended Swanson but I swap regularly different types as your body gets used to one and others contain slightly different things.

Bio care do a poly enzymes forte.

Good luck x

I didn’t see any change or results with digestive enzymes.

I’ve also tried many probiotics (with no results or they made me sick due to filler ingredients) and I have to say, the one I’m taking now I’m extremely happy with.
