Not sure if any can given advice. I had a thyroidectomy 11yrs ago because of a large adenoma. I take 150mg of levothythorine and B12 jabs. Everything has been fine apart from the odd day of feeling tired and brain fog. I have recently had an ultrasound on the other remaining portion of my thyroid and they found calcification and the texture had changed. I have a follow-up up appointment in September but as you would expect, I'm worrying!

After my partial throidectomy it took 3 months or more until, finally, the remaining tissues started to work again, then had 14 years or more without any sort of medication. Then the simple goitre developed into a multinodular goitre, trying once again to kill me - it nearly succeeded!
As you have been taking T4 under similar circumstances, I would suggest that your remaining tissues never recovered. It looks like you may eventually have a second operation but that is unlikely to take place unless you were suffering quite a lot. Any thyroid operation is highly dangerous, a repeat op even more so and no surgeon would risk your life without good reason. I survived THREE ops and feel extremely grateful to have even survived, and consider the problems of having no thyroid and being offered only levothyroxine to be of minor importance.
