Agree it is an epic read, a bit overwhelming at first. In the end I just went back to the first part , the liver cleanse , and focused on that for a few weeks . Essentially that is gluten free dairy free with some supplements .I kept having to go back and reread . Once I got my head around that part I read the next bit Just going into the adrenal bit now . If you google her name there are some YouTube videos which help make understanding the book a little easier 😀
Hi Nico101 I’m taking Prowise Liver and Gallbladder . ( I don’t have a gallbladder , hope that doesn’t confuse it 🙄) It has all sorts in it if you google it ! All natural stuff like beetroot, liquorice root, ginger root, turmeric etc. it’s suitable for vegans and gluten and lactose free. I’m also taking NAC from Swiss Bioenergetics for lung and liver support. Bit difficult to say what’s helping what as I’ve also gone gluten and milk free !
As with everything thyroid, I think it's good to go slow and steady, taking baby steps.
With these kinds of books start out reading the introductory chapter or the bit that applies most to your own illness, or just flip through and read pages that interest you. Don't feel the pressure to read every single word or understand things the first time, and you can always come back tomorrow or next week and read bits again once you're sure it is useful material.
Reading, concentrating, stamina, and retaining information can all be impaired with thyroid illness, so be kind and patient with yourself!
i first joined this site well over a year ago. none of it made sense, so i didn't come back. dr peatfield's book also went over my head... until it didn't. came back on here for help and started to click with the acronyms and understand all the Ts and adrenal hormones. just reread dr p's book and it all made sense.
i agree - baby steps, then it slowly starts to stick in your brain and make sense.
most important? don't give up; you will start to get it eventually.
When I first found the forum five years ago it was completely incomprehensible! I had some nice advice, half of it I didn't understand and had no idea how to get the blood tests that were mentioned.
I started coming onto the forum for an hour or so most days while I was stuck in bed before breakfast. I looked at loads of blood test results, and read knowledgeable members' anslyisis. Still not understanding much, just letting it all wash over me. Slowly it did start to sink in, and four months later I was persuaded by Dr P to buy my own NDT!
It wasn't until I'd been self medicating for some time that I started to write my own analysis of blood tests! At first copying most of what I'd seen others say, or what I wished I'd been told on Day 1, slowly adding extra detail as I learned more myself. There is still a huge pile of books and papers I'm not well enough to read!
Hi All
Thanks to those of you who showed interest in having the book
However, to be fair, I did say whoever messaged me first would get it
That's very generous of you and can understand you want to relieve yourself of it. I bought her Root Cause and that's a bit hard going. However it was written when she was not quite so famous. I have to say like a lot of us that although she is very knowledgeable and evidently very wealthy now, that everything with her seems to be about money. If she was genuinely interested in our health there wouldn't need to be a high price on every thing. Even plugging her way through Facebook. So i am disillusioned by her and no longer follow her.
