OK, worked that time, so I'll have another go.

I said, assuming that your anxiety and depression are caused by hypothyroidism, yes, they should go. But, other hormones can cause those symptoms if they are low. Have you had your sex hormones tested? Or cortisol?

That said, you could try increasing your T3 by 5 mcg, see if that helps. Looking at your past posts, seems your dose has been changed quite a lot. Has there been any time, any level, or any dose on which you felt well?

Yes my female hormones have been checked on and off the contraceptive pill and always good, cortisol fine also...

I believe my moods and anxiety are caused by my thyroid hormones as for the first time in my life I had some sort of anxious depressive breakdown 2 and a half years ago, and had my bloods checked to unveil a tsh of 8 but a slightly over range FT4 and a not even mid range FT3, since Oct 2016 I have been trying to get right, and tried numerous doses then the NHS actually prescribed me T3 about 2 months ago and although iv been slightly mentally better up and down, I know I'm not on the right dose...

I think in 2 years of had maybe a couple of months where I felt great, but that was on Levo alone and I was on a dose of about 108mcg...

108? Or 180 mcg? What happened then? Your TSH was low so they reduced your dose? Do you happen to have your blood results from when you were on that dose?

I was on 108mcg of Levo when I had a good 2 weeks of feeling normal!...

No my endos haven't been dosing on my tsh they have been dosing me on my symptoms and basically I have had a great gp that's been letting me find the right dose of Levo myself until it came apparent after 2 years that my conversion wasnt great and a great endo offered me T3 on the NHS to try.. I have weaned very slowly onto it only suffering with headaches as a side effect which I can cope with, these have gone now... I truly believe I'm just not on the right dose and that's why I'm suffering mentally.. though I have come to realise that since all this started I have become super sensitive to my emotions and seem to really be in tune with emotions through the day.. it's weird really...

Either way I just want to feel normal mentally and not be forgetful or remember what day of week it is or even that my son is actually at school and not in the house!!, also I'd like to have normal emotions like I used to and not get jealous and insecure and moody and depressed and anxious over nothing!...

Heads up.. i'm not good with a low ft4 and I'm not good with a ft3 anything less than 5 I know this much... and tsh less than 1 has been where im better...

Sorry. It's just that 108 mcg is such an odd dose.

I think you should try an increase of 5 mcg T3, then. See if that helps. 5 mcg is a very small dose. Wouldn't be enough for most people.

Or, try putting your levo back up to 108 mcg, with the T3. There's no reason why you shouldn't.

I know it is very odd I seem to be a very odd and sensitive person, I have tried so any different doses when on Levo alone, weening up tiny bit by bit as I will get side effects of any dose increase and decrease even tiny amounts of about 6mcg will affect Me!.. I was on 10mcg of T3 along with 100mcg of Levo around 4 weeks ago but my ft4 dropped to 17 and ft3 went over range I felt horrible with ice prick headaches and weird anxious head... so I reduced the T3, and these symptoms subsided.. I'm struggling at the minute to figure out if It's the FT4 that's affecting me or the FT3 and which I need more or less of...

These past nearly 3 years just seem to be dragging on forever trying to find my sweet spot 😣

Have you ever had your cortisol tested?

I'm sorry you're still having symptoms. I note you are taking a combination of T4/T3 and I have read that researchers have found that a 4:1 or 3:1 combination of T4/T3 has been found to be beneficial. Your dose of T3 is on the low side.

Forget about blood tests as such, it is the symptoms which are the priority plus relief of symptoms. I hope the following is helpful - we've to read and learn a lot and many of us don't take identical doses - it should all rest upon relief of symptoms and how we feel.

Keep in mind that our hormone levels vary throughout the day and if we had a blood test five times a day they'd probably be different.

I will also state I'm not medically qualified and have hypothyrodism and it is due to Thyroiduk that I'm now well. There was no Healthunlocked at that time.

Thank you I'm very very sensitive to any dose increase or decrease.. so I may just increase the T3 very slightly by maybe 2.5 as this will then increase my FT3 but also at the same time bring FT4 down slightly as this is over range!??....

It is trial and error but eventually, hopefully, you will reach an ideal dose which relieves your symptoms and it does feel wonderful if we're allowed to do so by the authorities. Keep in mind that it is symptoms-relief we're aiming for (not as the medical profession seem to think a 'numbers' game) whilst ignoring disabling symptoms or giving 'extra' prescrips for them.
