You will need bloods retested
For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 plus both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested.
Also extremely important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12
Low vitamin levels are extremely common, especially if Thyroid antibodies are raised
Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and fasting. This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip, best not mentioned to GP or phlebotomist)
Hi Flaxseed,
Yes, mine did. I was on Tapazole for 2 years prior to my recent TT and my goiter doubled in size while I was being medicated. My bloodwork was appropriate for me at the time despite the increase in size of the goiter. I had a cold nodule on the left side of the thyroid that grew and was responsible for the change in the overall size of the goiter. It ended up blocking my windpipe and crushing my vocal cords, thus the need for a TT.
Hope this information helps. I would still take the advice of SlowDragon and have your bloods retested. You may get information from the bloodwork that could provide greater insight into the symptoms you are experiencing.
Wishing you all the best and hope you feel better soon.
