These are my results from a recent Medichecks test. I’m considering seeing a private endocrinologist. Not sure if they will look at these results though?

Test Results
I saw a rheumatologist privately and was asked to send all blood test results I had in advance of the appointment for her to look through.
Only bit I can advise on ( from experience, I’m not a medic) is your low folate. Although your B12 looks ok you need a good level of folate for it to work well. I’m sure a dr could advise you on otc folate to buy.
Take it with you and ask if that helps pinpoint anything. He may want to do his own testing but it might help on the day to focus on where things are flagged.
Hello Betty,
Well your TSH is very elevated and well over the range so the endo can’t overlook it and if he wants to check for himself then any tests they do Are strongly likely to be broadly similar to your result here so I wouldn’t worry about that at all. If they don’t agree with the testing they will do a blood draw themselves if it’s dismissed out of hand - unlikely- with no testing offered see another Endo- what was your T4 reading too if they did one.
Best of luck too
Nikki
You were taking Levo, how much are you taking now. After my TT I was put onto Levo after seeing various Endos and my GP, I became very ill after only 8 months. I then joined this site and started myself on thyroid s NDT. It has taken me some time but I now feel great on my adjusted dose. I did this myself with the help of the people on the site. I haven't visited a GP or Endos for well over two years. I feel great and am getting fitter every week now. I just order 1000 every 13 months and do one full blood test a year through Medilchecks.
Hi Bunnyjean. Thanks for the advice. I’m taking 175 Levo. I’ve been wondering for some time if I should add ndt as I’ve read some reports that suggest T3 is needed along with T4 if you’ve had a TT. Would you be able to pm me the details of where you source your NDT?
All your vitamins are low even if they have marked them green and your ferritin is on the low side too. Like me you don't have hashimotos. Your tsh is high and you are not converting your T4 to T3 very well. You need some help there. I would suggest you get all your vitamins and minerals optimal first. Selenium may help your conversion.
Betty41, These are some pretty bad results, so I'd hope you won't have to go private, and should be able to get a diagnosis and treatment in the NHS. Both thyroid and vitamin results are very low, so I expect you are feeling really rubbish.
For the thyroid results, in a healthy thyroid the TSH will be between about 0.8-2. Even the stingiest of doctors will make a diagnosis once it reaches 10. Yours is well over that. FreeT3 and freeT4 show how much hormone is available in your blood. A healthy person would have these numbers close to the centre of the range. Both of yours are rock bottom, which suggests you've been ill for a long time.
All of these vitamins look low. A very rough rule of thumb is we like to see these halfway through the range, with some needing to be at the top. Ferritin, stored iron, is the least bad, and you may be okay with this, its a bit shy of the halfway point, though. Folate is considerably under range. This is one of the B vitamins. Your B12 is low, which is probably causing symptoms. This is well below the halfway point. Vitamin D is absolutely rock bottom.
Unfortunately I dont know enough about vitamins to advise you, and you haven't had a comment from a member who is knowledgeable about them. I suggest you either make a brand new post asking specifically about vitamins, or do a lot more research of your own on the forum.
You will need to supplement to address these deficiencies, they'll be causing you symptoms. Some of your results may be low enough to get NHS treatment. Its important to get good quality, high bio availability tablets at high doses.
Thanks for all your replies. I will start a new post regarding vitamins. I’m confused as to why they are all so low.
