I only can see posts by myself and the replies. How do I view other posts?
Radd asked me to post my test results which I did and he commented on them. There are two members insisting that I have the numbers mixed up. I double checked ( I get them online). and I didn’t. It was the T3 13.8 (10.6-19.7) that they said was impossible. Radd didn’t seem to think that was wrong. Are they wrong or is this a bad number.
Thanks in advance

I agree with what others have said, that your FT3 and FT4 aren't right, and seem to be transposed.
If you scroll to the top of the page, to the left you should see options to click either Home, My hub, Chat or the Bell icon. If you chose Home, it will take you to the most recent posts of the fora of which you are a member. If you click on My hub it will take you to a list of the fora, from which you click on ThyroidUK, and you'll also see the posts from there.
Yes, medical results of lab tests are online. It’s great. You know in about five hours. I read England is supposed to have it too but lots of drs don’t post them. It’s not our drs though. It’s the lab.
Well, you can, and I could explain it if you were on a PC. But, I really don't know anything about iphones. I don't have a mobile phone of any sort. I hate them!
I live my IPhone. We have a six month old pc and I never use it. I sit relaxed in my reclining chair that has a built in port for my phone to charge and I love it. My phone is my computer. I don’t use it at all to talk. Just texting and everything else a pc does. To each his own but unless you have owned one you don’t know if you would like it.
I must confess I missed the possible switch of ranges ... apologies ... and have to agree with the others.
But don't you see in this instance it doesn't matter (not my mistake 😱, that matters) but the possible mix up of ranges because whether it is FT4 as 35.16% and FT3 as 30.30%, or FT4 as 30.30% and FT3 as 35.16%, either way you are unfortunately under medicated.
Read your original post and although effectively addressed above...you have written ‘T3 13.8...’. But presume you mean FT3. T3 or T4 means total not free T3 or 4. Sometimes drs. do the total T3 , T4 alone without frees, but they are useless to help judge conversion....
It isn't countries that have different ranges, it is laboratories.
And, sometimes, different units.
Personally, I am delighted that we have so many members from around the world.
It helps in so many ways. We can understand that the same issues exist everywhere. And if there is something different, we can become aware and decide whether it is better, or worse.
Taking Synthroid absolutely and definitively does NOT mean you know where the person is.
For a start, Canada, Israel, New Zealand and Puerto Rico. Also, US armed forces could be in any of many countries and might well be on Synthroid supplied by the services medical people.
Abbvie operate in around 75 countries around the world. I suspect several of them have Synthroid available.
I consider my frustration at not being sure where people are as nothing to their frustration at suffering thyroid disorder.
Wow!!! You sure are blunt. I’m a Canadian and I am happy that there is this site where I can find some answers and get a morale boost knowing I’m not alone. We are all human beings and deserve to feel well. Not just England. I personally don’t read anyone’s numbers because I am no dr and won’t pretend to be. I read to see if any others out there have problems similar to myself because they may have some answers.
As to posing in one long post. I think of different question at different times.
By the way I have been on Synthroid for over ten years so you can’t assume I’m an American as others pointed out.
😔 oh no reallyfedup123 I’m sure you didn’t mean your post to come across as it has, the written/read word is difficult sometimes as it can be percived in so many different ways.
I understand that if you’ve been a long standing member that you’ve seen it all before and yes it would be good if new posters could be concise, lay out their posts in a readable fashion and put all relevant info but I am soooo grateful when experienced members are patient with my posts, especially in the beginning when I was so ill and so low, If someone had have been curt or not patient with me I’d have probably been quite upset and maybe left having never gained the knowledge and experience of others.
Now I try and remember that most who come to this forum looking for help, no matter where that be from in the world are not well and probably they haven’t been well for quite some time, they’re bound to be off their game and need some guidance in all matters, they probably don’t even know what information is relevant 🤷♀️
You are too too kind. Are you one if life’s smoothers if ruffled feathers. Nothing wrong with that. I’m like that a lot. I think from his or her choice of name though tells it all.
No I’m one of life’s feather rufflers 😔 but I don’t mean to be, I feel I’m just misunderstood most of the time but a little older an wiser now. But I do think that sometimes a lot of people don’t always come across as they mean which is why I said what I said. I’m sure reallyfedup didn’t mean for her post to be personal but it certainly read that way. I’m a strong fiesty Irish woman and often misunderstood 😬
I love strong feisty Irish women. My grandma was from from county Hexford. Does that sound right? I read English and Irish authors almost exclusively. Just saying.
I am finding out that there will be people on here that will upset you and you either challenge or ignore. I’ve always been a challenger I’m afraid.
Lol!! Yes, Wexford. No, seeing as I am first generation Canadian with three English grandparents and an English father ( I like them). Actually I do. We visit my relatives every year there. Until I got sick that is.
I hope you’re back to visit soon. I certainly am a mix. Scottish Dad, N.Irish mother and have lived in England longer than I ever did in Ireland. But still some cultural differences at times but I love them and would never move home.
So I guess you don’t have the lovely Irish accent. I could listen to it all day.
Where do you live in England? I have been to most of it except Birmingham way. The North I think! Am I thinking of the right place. A bit dreary looking from what we see in English tv shows. We watch quite a few shows on public broadcast here. Love the detective shows. The old ones I guess Foyles War, liked Heartbeat too.
My goal is to feel good and go there in September. Fingers and eyes 👀 crossed lol.
I have all 3 accents! Lol depends who I’m talking to! My Dad was a soldier so we moved and mixed with various British and there’s an array of accents within the UK! Lol But I have a mix of northern Irish, Scottish and southern English. We live just outside London, I thought my husband sounded like a cockney when I first met him, but now I know it’s nothing like it! But culturally I’m very Irish, very loud, fun loving, melancholy and a very relaxed parent until I’m NOT! Lol
I’ve never been to Birmingham but they have a very distinctive accent 😂
Judging by you photo you look about 35 lol. Am I close? I am an old bag now (71in July) but until I got sick I was very fun loving. So is my husband but I’m a little crazier. We were the ones who danced in the tables at Carlos and Charlie’s in Mexico and we were in our middle 50’s. Now a wild time for me is two beer instead of just one lol. Still 40 on the inside. I told a 36 year old yesterday and she said no, I’m more like 35.
My relatives lived in Eltham. Been there lots of times. When I was 26 my sister and I lived for six months in my aunts dairy farm. In a teeny town in Devon called Holsworthy. Best time of my life. All the guys wanted to date the Canadian. Fresh meat lol. I had an Avon Lady here and she was from England. When I asked where she said Holsworthy if you can believe. Turns out the boss I had while there was the best man at her wedding!! Small world.
I just turned 45 😂 but I went clubbing for the first time in years a few weeks ago and all the teeny tiny 20yr olds were very kind to us ‘old’ women! Lol We just missed the dancing! 71 doesn’t mean the same as my grandparents, they were old when they got to 50! Lol Although none of my grandparents made it to 70. I think 65 was the oldest they got 😩
Your hair looks so much younger than 45 lol. Clubbing! Wow. We used to love it but then realized that us old people were way out of place. This was st about your advanced age.
I wish I had the energy to stand never mind dance lol.
😂 thank you, I’ve been very blessed with good hair, although I have about 10 grey hairs now!! 😱😂 But in fact I used to have to scrape it back and make it look ‘less’ nice for Drs appointments because it looked too good! Lol
The web is international as you know. Doesn’t matter where you are reading it from. No country owns a site for their exclusive use. I have said on here that I am brand new as of four or five days and it is the first time in my life ( I’m 71 in July) that I have ever gone on a forum. Regulars have to understand that.
You of all people should know how sick you can get when your numbers are out of whack. I have Hashi Hypo and have been basically existing for five years now. As if the thyroid issues weren’t bad enough, I suffered very bad anxiety (long ugly med story) and two years ago I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I am desperate for help and we all agree that drs are pretty useless at helping us.
Many USA sites put up the shutters to those in Europe (including the UK) when European law demanded that they conform to data protection standards. Like not storing your information without permission, not storing information in cookies, not selling your information to anyone, etc.
In general, these seem perfectly reasonable restrictions. But sites decided they either couldn't be bothered to make sure they conformed, didn't want to make access available without grabbing your data, or some other reason.
Such sites simply refuse when they detect a person using a location in Europe. (There are various ways of doing this including looking at the address your computer has.)
Several UK sites do not allow access from outside the UK. For example, I think the British National Formulary - freely accessible within the UK - cannot be accessed from elsewhere.
There are usually ways round but they can be very complicated.
