Dry red eyes

Does anyone experience dry red eyes ? I’m wondering if this is just an allergy or related to hypothyroidism.

Your symptoms could be related to thyroid issues.

Just make sure whatever drops or ointments you may buy or be prescribed are preservative free. Do you have the opportunity to see an optician, as they have the machines to further than a doctor, in the first instance.

Yes, thanks I’ll see my optician again. He gave me Blephasol as he said I had a bacteria on my eyelashes. I use it twice a day and it prevents in growing eyelashes but my eyes are very dry and red still

Yes. I get that periodically and I have low adrenal reserve and am hypo. I use Xialin eye drops. Sometimes if I wake in the night my eyelid is stuck to my eyeball and it's very painful to even blink. Then I get periods - months, even - where my eyes are ok.

Thanks. I’m not sure if I have or not. I have been gluten free for over a year now but haven’t felt any better. Still exhausted

It can be from hyper issues . Do you have your FT3 FT4 TSH values ? You might want to post your results including the ranges and someone can help interpret it for you .

Thanks. I had bloods done in March this year.

Serum TSH level 0.19 mu/L range 0.35-5.00 mu/L

Serum T4 16 pmol/L range 7.00-20.00 pmol/L

Serum T3 5.8 pmol/L
