What's the starting dose when using T3

Hi everyone.

If anyone takes T3 can they advise on how to they take it.

I'm on NDT, so would a start dose be a quarter tablet? Would you increase every 2 weeks whilst checking your symptoms for reaction?

I'd be most grateful if anyone could share their experience of using T3 with me.

I should think people would need to see your latest labs before being able to advise on that. In any case, you certainly shouldn't start on more than 1/4 tablet.

Thanks for your reply GG. I've spoken with my GP about my thyroid & I'll now make an appt to get bloods done.

OK, but it's extremely important that the FT3 is done. Otherwise, it's not worth doing them at all.

Thanks for the reminder. Been so long since I've been on the forum with one thing & another. It'll have to be a private test then as GP said only TSH will be tested.

I did allow myself a glimmer of hope, especially as she was interested in my taking NDT. Just checked out Blue Horizon, £49 for plus 3 test, so not as bad as I thought. Moral of my story.......just to rely on myself & this forum.

Well, just because she was interested in you taking it, doesn't mean she knows anything about it. Does she even know it contains T3? lol Most of them have no idea about T3. It's a very sad state of affairs.
