Low testosterone

Hi, I’ve been experiencing symptoms of low testosterone for quite some time. Low mood, loss of libido, fatigue. Loss of muscle mass.

I’m a 41 year old male. I don’t drink alcohol, exercise, have a clean diet.

I’ve attached my results. Whilst they are still within reference range, is this still considered low?

Thanks to any advice

Anxiety, depression and possibly low testosterone can all be linked to hypothyroidism

Just testing TSH and FT4 in previous post is completely inadequate

For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 plus both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested. Also extremely important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12

Low vitamin levels are extremely common, especially if Thyroid antibodies are raised

Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and fasting. This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip, best not mentioned to GP or phlebotomist)

Private tests are available. Thousands on here forced to do this as NHS often refuses to test FT3 or antibodies or all vitamins

Medichecks Thyroid plus ultra vitamin or Blue Horizon Thyroid plus eleven are the most popular choice. DIY finger prick test or option to pay extra for private blood draw. Both companies often have special offers, Medichecks usually have offers on Thursdays, Blue Horizon its more random

Medichecks currently have an offer on until end of May - 20% off

If antibodies are high this is Hashimoto's, (also known by medics here in UK more commonly as autoimmune thyroid disease).

About 90% of all hypothyroidism in Uk is due to Hashimoto's.

Low vitamins are especially common with Hashimoto's. Food intolerances are very common too, especially gluten. So it's important to get TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested at least once .

Hi Slow Dragon and anyone else who is more experienced in this than me.

I have had another Thyroid test done. Im seeking a more comprehensive one that now.

But My results are:

TSH 3.95 mIU/L (Range: 0.27 - 4.2)

Free T3 5.31 pmol/L (Range: 3.1 - 6.8)

Free Thyroxine 21.000 pmol/L (Range: 12 - 22)

Im confused to wether this suggests im more towards hypo or hyper?

Can anyone advise? From a symptom point of view I do feel like my body is leaching from itself if that makes any sense.

thanks all

Results are a bit odd....TSH is relatively high, but FT3 and FT4 are also high...would expect FT4 to be lower with TSH that high .....
