Mini pill and levothyroxine

I started the mini pill as I am in a relationship.

I told the doctor I am hypothyroid and he recommended the mini pill due to my age and condition.

I take the mini pill 2 hours after Levo so they don’t interfere.

But worried I might get bad symptoms.

What’s anyone else’s thoughts on it x

My philosphy is not to worry, it's a waste of time, energy and emotion as worrying doesn't change anything. If you get symptoms then stop using it. If you don't get symptoms then there's nothing to worry about :)

To avoid any kind of interaction or the mini-pill affecting absorption of Levo, why not take them at opposite ends of the day.

Have you read the patient information leaflet of both Levo and your pill, or Googled for any possible problems? That's a good place to start.

Yeah they said to take a couple of hours after Levo. The only symptoms I am getting is am still bleeding and only normally bleed for about 3 days but I suppose 5 days is no time at all. Just hope it settles. Thanks for the reply xx

I've been advised that the combined pill can have an affect on how thyroid medication works...your symptoms seem to fit. Oestrogen makes tsh work harder so may give a false reading for your t3.
