Hi mate.. yes cheers . Is the t3 where it should be? I have a endo appointment tomorrow.. im not really sure why i need to go but i will go and put it to him aswell.. like now i feel great again. So its up and down and comes at any time.. but it definitely makes me feel ill and odd.
To be honest i cant seem to work it out.. i worked today and was fine
Then while i was at home.i come over a bit rubbish with head ache and feeling off. After dinner i seem to feel better but then went off then back on and ive just sat down and feel ok.. back still aching slight amount .
just drop your Levo dose 25mcg a day and drink lots of water - 8-12 glasses a day (cut the pills with a blade). See how you feel in a week. If you start feeling cold you might have to sneak it back up but just see if you feel better first.
Hi james i tried that already.. i took 100 one day and 75 the other and wasnt feeling good after a couple of weeks.. im back on 100 now.. mabe ive had a virus or something.. im not sure. I feel good today.. at present... Im waiting to see if it drops off this afternoon..
know where you are - when I have my NDT tune wrong. As I gently swing from low to high - I get a good day while I'm optimal and then go high and have a few bad days. Water Water to keep the system really hydrated. I pee hourly during daylight hours
Thats interesting .. i felt that could be whats happening to me. But ive sen an endo today and she thinks i have a plutirity problem ... Orderd loads of bloods and an mri
Hi Dave - whats plutirity I googled but couldn't find the word. Also The eye pain thing is just a side effect of Levo. Funny when you look at all the side effects, I cant believe they are allowed to sell the stuff. mayoclinic.org/drugs-supple... Levo and NDT both drie you out (although I only get eye pain on Levo) Drink 8-12 glasses of water perday
Hi Dave I dont know your age but as males Testosterone levels fall, your ability to convert T4 into T3 will plummet. At 50 I was 13 (10.4 - 30.1nmol/l Testos.) I started taking a prescription testosterone supplement and my thyroid numbers and how I feel improved significantly. Warning - once you start testosterone you are on it for life, your testis shut down and will not restart for 18months - read 18 months of misery.
Hi james.. thanks for your reply.. im 50... I have to have bloods done and testosterone is one.of the tests.. the endo ask me.lots of questions about testis size libido etc.. so i think shes on the case. Shes also testing alot more i know i have to fast aswell and to ha e the test at 9am .. also the bloods are to do with the pit gland.. i have read about taking testosterone.. im ok with that.. its the serious part im a bit worried about..
Ho james.. sorry i didnt spell it right lol .. it was the blood results of my 1st test showed not normal results indicating a poss pit gland problem... 3gps missed it
8 to 12 glasses is very imprecise - many glasses are half a UK pint or more (10 ounces/284 mL). Which means you could be recommending four to six UK pints (2.27 3.40 litres) a day - or more.
The link below is to a story of someone who suffered brain damage from four pints a day.
Woman left brain damaged by detox
Dawn says she can no longer work and relies heavily on husband Geoff
A woman has been awarded more than £800,000 after she suffered permanent brain damage while on a detox diet.
In the UK, there is no such measure as "standard cup". (Well, there is, but it is almost entirely unknown.)
The cup as a unit of measure varies according to many things including country. It would be far better to express quantity in millilitres and, possibly, a customary measure/Avoirdupois/Imperial or other as well.
I just read the mayo report you sent... Thats unreal.. your right u wouldn't think they would be allowed to sell it.. i definitely get some.of them side affects... Unreal
Yes I take NDT because I tick the box on a about half the side effects listed in the flimsy provided with Thyroxine/Levothyroxine. Not saying NDT is perfect either. Getting a big lump of T3 once or twice a day weather you need it or not takes abit of getting used to
On Thyroxine/Levothyroxine (100mcg) As soon as I get even slightly close to having a respectable TSH, I get. A constant head ache, always thirsty/buzy tongue, brain fog, sore finger tips, stabbing pain in the eye, dry eyes, numb feet to the point I burn them on hot surfaces, can't stand on one foot, sore joints, sore rib joints, nervous bladder, wee 6 times a night, generally feel crap, blood pressure up 15 points, cholesterol up and the finally indignation I put weight, got to 110kg. But my Temp is stable 36.6C.
On NDT and Testosterone.I have a normal TSH, slight buzzy head ache for an hour after taking 30mg which I take 3 x per day, finger tips and toes hurt if I take too much, hands and feet joints/tendons hurt if I dont take enough, I'm always thirsty/buzy tongue . Maintain 90kg weight and feel great so I can do an hour of gym, jogging, cycling or swimming every day. My Temp flapps all over the place from 35.4-37.0C
You have to remember that many medicines have long lists of so-called side effects. And the more commonly prescribed a medicine is, and the more years it has been available, the longer that list is likely to be.
I offer one medicine which is formally a Pharmacy medicine (in lower doses) - effectively over-the-counter in pharmacies with this nice little list:
Side-effects
For all OPIOIDS
Common or very common
Arrhythmias; confusion; constipation; dizziness; drowsiness; dry mouth; euphoric mood; flushing; hallucination; headache; hyperhidrosis; hypotension (with high doses); miosis; nausea (more common on initiation); palpitations; respiratory depression (with high doses); skin reactions; urinary retention; vertigo; visual impairment; vomiting (more common on initiation); withdrawal syndrome (in adults)
Uncommon
Drug dependence; dysphoria
Side-effects, further information
Respiratory depression
Respiratory depression is a major concern with opioid analgesics and it may be treated by artificial ventilation or be reversed by naloxone.
Dependence and withdrawal
Psychological dependence rarely occurs when opioids are used therapeutically (e.g. for pain relief), but tolerance can develop during long-term treatment.
Overdose
Opioids (narcotic analgesics) cause coma, respiratory depression, and pinpoint pupils. For details on the management of poisoning, see Opioids, under Emergency treatment of poisoning and consider the specific antidote, naloxone hydrochloride.
