I need to test my thyroid levels and thought I’d buy two tests instead of one as there was a great offer. One I’ve used and sent back, but want to keep the other for another 6-8 weeks in order to retest. Just wanted to know if there is an expiry on the test kit- can’t find anything and wondered if others had done this.
Thanks as always Linda

I order from Medichecks regularly and the test kits should be ok for a couple of months. I have sent some back after about 2 months. If the sample has been spoiled because there is an issue with the test kit they will usually send out a new one free of charge too.
On the website it says:
"The test is valid for 6 (six) months from the date we post the testing kit to you (the "Validity Period") - see clause 7 for further information about the dispatch of the testing kit. If you do not send a sample to the laboratory within the Validity Period your test will expire and you will not be entitled to a refund."
Thank you!! I couldn’t find anything on the site lol. Must be the old brain fog, & frustration that I can’t see what I’m looking for. I’m reassured that I use the one I’ve saved to retest now. 😄😄😄
Unless they've changed it in the last month or so, at no point in the ordering process do you actually see those T&C, or have to accept T&C. You really have to go looking for them to find them. I have told Medichecks previously that IMHO they haven't got a leg to stand on when challenged on the 6 month limit. They realise this (or the people I have spoken to realise it anyway), and in my experience give in on it when pressed. However, unless you fancy a trip to the small claims court if Medichecks decide to be daft about it, it's easier to make sure you use any tests within the 6 months.
The only way I've ever found Medichecks's Ts & Cs is to Google "Medichecks terms and conditions" and you get a link, then the page says "Home > Terms and Conditions" but you try finding a link for "Home" on their website and it's just not possible. There doesn't seem to be any way to see their Ts & Cs by looking on the website itself.
Look on the microtainer tube, there is a date on it. You can use that tube up until that date. There is a substance within the tube that is effective up to that date (can't remember exactly what it is).
You have 6 months from date of purchase to use the test, beyond that you can ask for an "extension" and they may charge an admin fee. But always check the date on the blood tube.
I bought a test when on offer and didn't intend to use it for about 4 months (it was an iron deficiency check which doesn't come on offer very often). By the time I wanted to do my test the date would have expired. I contacted them and they sent me out a new kit nearer the time.
