Hello, I’m planning on using the medichecks thyroid check ultra test. To check for thyroid problems and autoimmune diseases.
I want to use the nurse Home visit option. Has anyone used this? I can’t see anything online about their nurses/phlebotomists? I’m just wondering who they use and how I can find out more about this.
I’ve never used anything online like this so I want to know who they people are! I’ve googled everything I can think of. Any advice? Ideally it d like to order today while the offer is on!! 😊

Thank you, Medichecks do have the option of a home visit. I’m just trying to find out a bit about the people who come out, are they registered nurses etc probably worrying unnecessarily but thought someone might have had experience 😕
I don’t mind blood tests at all so would rather have a nurse draw blood than prick my own finger, I know that’s crazy! 😂but just want to know who they are! Thanks for your help.
I thought Medichecks only had fingerprick tests or the option of a 'partner clinic', I've never seen anything about home phlebotomy service from them. I've used Blue Horizon home phlebotomy service and they are qualified nurses who come out.
Yes, I’ve added it to my basket and it’s £39 for the nurse to come out. Just doesn’t give any further information on the nurses. I’ll have a look at blue horizon now. I feel like the blue horizon was more expensive.
Yes BH nurse visit is £49 I think. I will check out the Medichecks nurse visit, it would be helpful for me but I live in rural Wales and it took a while for BH to cover my area when they first set it up.
PS - just done a trial purchase with Medichecks and it says if you select home nurse visit they will contact you to arrange. I might contact them to see if they cover my area. Thanks for mentioning this
So do you think it will be an official registered nurse or phlebotomist who comes out? The blue horizon comes to an additional £20 for the same test and home visit. 🤔
I use the Medichecks option to get blood drawn at nearby private hospital. No need to book an appointment, just turn up, so good for getting done as early as possible in morning.
I am sure it will be a registered nurse. The one who came to me from BH was. They use a 'service provider', they're not nurses employed by BH. They send your details to the service provider, then the nurse who covers your area rings you to arrange a convenient appointment. I am positive that Medichecks will do the same. If you are worried, I would contact Medichecks for reassurance
Sorry I just meant in total blue horizons was more than medichecks in total. Medicheck call out is £39 and I think £49 for blue horizons. Thanks for getting back to me.
Phlebotomist is a person who did phlebotomy course. Any one can do such course, you don't have to be medically educated. Think of it as a health care assistant with completed blood drawing course.
