Awful joint pain pain everywhere, please help.

Hello

I’m awaiting blood tests results from my doctor about my painful joint pain, hips & knees for years but now my elbows, wrists and hands are really bothering me. Difficult to sleep. I have put on a stone gradually over the past year so I thought I would join a gym called curves... it was going quite well for a month but I’ve stopped going because this it seams has aggravated the pain in the wrists elbows and hands.

I had a hip X-ray a few months ago, pain in my right hip and groin , but, the X-ray showed that I need a hip replacement on my left! I only 60 & feel ancient now!

I’m gluten free but after reading Steven Grundy book the plant paradox, I drink A2 milk ... do you think I need to give up all milk products ?

Any advice would be very much appreciated .

Many thanks 🤗

Can see you have Hashimoto's and gluten free

How much Levothyroxine are you currently taking?

When were bloods last tested?

What vitamin supplements do you take?

For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 tested. Also extremely important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12

Low vitamin levels are extremely common, especially with Hashimoto's or if under medicated on Levothyroxine

Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and fasting. Last Levothyroxine dose should be 24 hours prior to test, (taking delayed dose immediately after blood draw). This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip, best not mentioned to GP or phlebotomist)

Is this how you do your tests?

Ask GP to test vitamins.

Private tests are available. Thousands on here forced to do this as NHS often refuses to test FT3 or antibodies or all vitamins

Medichecks Thyroid plus ultra vitamin or Blue Horizon Thyroid plus eleven are the most popular choice. DIY finger prick test or option to pay extra for private blood draw. Both companies often have special offers, Medichecks usually have offers on Thursdays, Blue Horizon its more random

If it were me, I'd do it Monday then there's no risk of the blood sitting in an empty lab over the weekend; but also if you wrote that at about 9.00 and hadn't yet done the blood draw, you'd also be better leaving it until Monday so you can optimise your TSH level with an earlier draw.

Good advice.

Do NOT do test today. Lab won't get it until Tuesday which would be useless

It needs to be done on a normal Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday morning
