Any ideas? I know I’m under medicated atm (Hashi’s 10yrs, waiting for a change in treatment) so maybe it’s just that but I thought I’d reach out and ask if anyone has a similar issue.
My appetite has been small for the last few months and that doesn’t bother me per say because I keep my activity low in order to deal with the lethargy. So usually I eat around 2pm and then a small dinner with the family. So for instance today I’ve had a bowl of soup and a slice of bread and then later I’ll have a small portion of spag Bol.
When I eat at 2ish I’ll feel hungry, have hunger pains and I’ll enjoy the food but then I’ll just feel bloated and full for hours. Not painful but I’ll just feel like I’ve binged on take away and sunk a few beers. This means I don’t want to eat till after 7/8pm at night and I force myself to have a portion of food.
I’m gluten free. Is it just that my metabolism is on a go slow and it’ll right itself when I’m not Hypo?

I’ve never really eaten dairy or gluten as a rule. But I’ve only actively looked for gluten free products. I have spread butter on toast and I reckon I have about 10ml of milk in a cup of tea once per day. There’s no other dairy in my diet. Everything (apart from the bread) is home cooked and cooked from scratch.
I felt similar to you before I was optimally medicated and vit/minerals were high up the ranges. I also felt terribly nauseous. Mine was a combination of low stomach acid, lactose intolerance and possibly gluten also under medicated. It has taken months to resolve the bloating and nausea but I have managed to succeed. My diet is tough, not for the faint hearted but it has worked. Good luck!
Thanks Baobabs 🤗 No Nausea here but I have been burping! Something I never do, not because I have exceptional manners but because I’m just not a belcher, never have been. I going to try turmeric or apple cider vinegar. I like the sound of those.
What do you mean about your diet ‘not for the faint hearted’ tell me more! Lol now I’m intrigued 😀
See my posting ‘Its Magic’ 23 days ago. I give details of my diet and exercise for what it’s worth. It works for me. Yes apple cider vinegar in water before meals has worked well for me.
Thanks Baobabs ❤️ I had a read through. Apart from the Kefir, which I’ve never heard of, you’ve described my normal diet. It’s not a new thing or a fad for me, that’s just how I eat day to day 😬 It’s just that now I have a suppressed appetite so I probably eat a small meal and 2/3times a week I have a glass of red wine because...... life 😩
When I exercise I will have smoothies but atm I don’t need the sugar because I can’t exercise so I don’t eat fruit at all, not really on purpose, I just don’t have an appetite for it.
I’m so glad you have found a way of eating that has been so positive for you 👏👏 Your story is bloomin brilliant. 🍷cheers to good health 🍷
Digestive enzymes have been totally life changing for me. Proteolytic enzymes as well. Have seen similar recommendations on this posting. Until HealthUnlocked - I had heard only one other hint that I might have low stomach acid and it was from a health practitioner who tested me and said they knew for sure I had low stomach acid. I didn’t listen. 10 years later I finally did listen and I was amazed at how much better I felt! I had no symptoms or so it seemed - very rarely indigestion great appetite no other problems in the digestive tract. Still they were right. Recently Isabella Wentz reported she had some clients who after taking digestive enzymes lost weight even though they changed nothing about their diet. My experience as well. I’ve lost 10 pounds in 30 days and 3 inches off of my waist. And let’s don’t even talk about all the energy I have now.
If only I had listened sooner! Highly recommend digestive enzymes and proteolytic enzyme‘s!
Hi same for me, I’m Hashi’s and was struggling eating meals. Stomach felt bloated and full. Had nausea. Have started taking Apple Cider Vinegar tablets, Nordic and probiotics and I feel much better.
